It's been three weeks now and I still haven't seen Elemental Shaman items from Ulduar.

This is getting annoying. People constantly use this stupid argument whenever someone brings this up on a Wow site, citing the blues that "Itemization won't be perfect until the last raid."

Tell me, are tanks getting gear with spell penetration? Are healers getting gear with defense? Are mages getting gear with shield block? No, they aren't. EleShaman, on the other hand, are forced to use gear with 100% wasted stats.

Here's my current list of non-tier upgrades:

Rz25: Waist
Hodir25Hard: Wrist
Yogg25: Weapon
Thor25Hard: Offhand

That's it. The other spellpower mail items that are potential upgrades over my tier? I can't use them. None of the mail in Ulduar (or anywhere for that matter) has Hit on it for spellcasters. The tier pieces are the only thing with Hit on it. I have no chance of ever seeing those hard-mode drops, so basically Ulduar, aside from tier gear, has 2 upgrades for me.

I'm just curious, because I imagine there's two full sets of tank gear in Ulduar, four full sets of heal gear, lots of cloth and leather dps gear, a bunch of options for Hunters... but no Elemental Shaman gear.

And herein lies my problem. If all I'm going to get in terms of mail with spellpower on it is Mp5, why not just go Resto? I'm not going to benefit the raid at all without any form of improvement on my DPS. There's no point in running a dungeon that has no upgrades for you if you're just going to bring everyone else down along the way.

Too bad I hate healing and REALLY don't want to go Resto. Looks like I'm going to have to start collecting Enhancement gear. Thanks Blizz.

ps - typically there's only one ring, neck, and cloak per dungeon that I can actually use, and this trend continues in Ulduar. The only ring comes from 25-man. The only neck from 10. The only cloak from trash in 10.

Although it looks like in 3.1.2 the first trinket is being changed a little.
* Elemental Focus Stone now gives Your harmful spells have a chance to increase your haste rating by 522 for 10 sec. (Old - 522 Spell Power)

With Misery/Imp FF, the 3 pieces of t8.5 and one of those trinkets you shouldn't have a problem getting to hit cap I'd think.
Its what, 263 if you're Alli w/ Heroic Presence? Maybe 290 or so Horde? **** with the 3 8.5 pieces and Living Flame alone that puts you at 287

that's for 1 handed weapon smites.

spell hit rating is 17%, should still be relatively easy though.

I was going to 17%, 3% from Elemental Precision, 3% from Misery/Imp FF, 1% (maybe) from Heroic Presence, then 263 hit rating is 10%, totals to 17%.

We don't have a Shadow Priest or a Moonkin in our raids most of the time. I have to have 368 hit to be capped.

I currently have a Hit neck, a Hit cape, a Hit trink (Dying Curse), another Hit trink (Mark of the War Prisoner), Hit gems, and the +Hit from my tier. That's barely enough to get me hit-capped.

Also the 522 haste hit trinket is garbage.

Also mp5 is another wasted stat. Throw out all the items that had mp5.

Also I can't replace head, chest, hand, leg, or shoulder because of the Hit on that gear. I can only replace it with more Tier.

Yeah spell hit cap is easy. I run at 321 which is 12% and I get 3% from talents and the 3% from misery/imp faerie fire. I can still drop about 25 hit and still be capped.

@Squeek. You have a talent that gives you 3% spell hit. You can ditch your hit gems and possibly some other hit gear and be fine.

Edit: Oh wait you don't always have a shadow priest or moonkin nevermind.

You only need 8% from hit rating as arcane if you always run with a spriest or moonkin because arcane focus stacks with elemental precision.
