"DEMO VERSION, PLEASE DOWNLOAD HERE"
ROFL I LIKE THAT ONE!
I'm going to let Rubix pick what to include. Tass' idea might just get it removed from kong LoL... enemies appearing from below and the sides are definitely going to happen already... and having such a huge hit box isn't fun so i'm making it more touhou-esq by having a smaller hit area... already you have to vibrate to attack ^^ but we're thinking of only doing that for one of the attacks... like vibrating to attack when you're shooting a laser makes no sense at all...This section intentionally blank.Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
I am trying to think of the underlying structure and purpose of the game before tacking on the bells and whistles. Ie. upgrade systems if applicable, although I am leaning towards simplicity here, although I can already think of some comical upgrade issues...Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
Borrrow some bullet patterns from Touhou or make some crazy ones of your own. =D
[Edit] Is this going to be a horizontal/vertical shooter? Or neither? We climb up a lot of ladders, and fall down a lot of chutes.Originally posted by Gundam-Dudemy semen is flying through the air as we speak

Vertical most likely. An absurd game of Touhou.Comment

It could easily be a hybrid game of sorts. It would allow for some interesting changes in gameplay.Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
You've never played Boarder Down, have you?
As you die, the game gets harder.
PS- the hardest shooter I never played was Jets N Guns: Gold Edition. That game on the hardest setting makes touhou and R-Type look like child's play.Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
ok how about lets think about a name first? want to give time for rubix to think about the structure first before other things.
I'm going to experiment creating a laser i think I know what to do... normal firing, hit detection, scores, lives, etc are all working. just need better graphics, but to have graphics we need a theme first, meaning we need a purpose first lol.
And bullet patterns from touhou... argh the coding behind that is going to be ANNOYING!!! but i'll try it!
Now going to experiment with lasers and homing missiles. This section intentionally blank.Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
1. I have no idea.
2. So is it going to be healthbar, or just 1 hit = 1 life gone
3. Am I the only one who never liked homing missiles. Not because I find them aggravating, but they're just overused to make a game difficult =POriginally posted by JemJem is my name. No one else is the same!

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
Rubix will decide whether one hit or healthbar. i personally like onehit games better...
I hate homing missiles too, but they're fun. You get to love them after playing N alot. This section intentionally blank.Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
Have the gun aim change (following a pattern, like slow sweep left and right. or 360 degree circle) not according to players inputs of course.
Also if you have a health bar, as you take damage your gun power should go down as well.Comment

Re: Kongregate Shootorial
It will most definitely be a one-hit thing
Wouldn't be hardcore otherwise. A true gamer demands perfection
