missle command, sinistar, joust, pretty much all the classic wave based shooter games never had endings (except for smash tv)

RPG's are always the best. They take a while to beat and you want to play it until you max out all your stats.

If you ignore the sidequests, it maybe takes an day or so. Since the difficulty of the game is based on your level, you can just... NOT LEVEL.

RPGs are the way to go for long games that generally cannot be made shorter. I know I've clocked over 100 hours on a single run through an RPG before, and I'll probably do it again.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is just a game that drags on and on, it's really not that good.

And I've accumulated over 500 hours in one run of a game by trying to fully level my characters, do all the sidequests and try to get each and every skill (Tales of Symphonia, don't know how I spent over 500 hours on ONE RUN of it).

It was one session that took about 2 years, most of it being four player co-op.

lucky me i bought my final fantasy with beatmania like a month ago and ive gotin so many more games so im like never playing ff12, so one day when i have no games left to play ill just go back to ff12, and i did the same thing for kingdom hearts 2, beat it in 4 days and i thought the first one was better cause it took me longer, but i sucked more back then i bet now if i had 4 free days, i could beat kingdom heats 1.and all the games i have ar all the ddrs, grand theft auto san andreas, guitar hero 2, beatmania, and ff 12, and for those games u either beat the game and play it alot or it takes you a while to beat.

Erm, I've gone through ToS about 3 times in 100 something hours and I'm level 190 something with every char having 9999HP/999MP :/ I tried to do almost everything I could each run, too.

Re: Beating Great Games Too Fast!

Thing is, I get bored with games. Like, when I play through a game the first time I used to go REALLY FAST and pwn its face right off. Afterwards it's like, yeah, I've already done this, whatever. I basically never bother with getting special items and secrets and such. Playing the same single player game over and over gets old. With multiplayer stuff I can play more of it, but it still gets old eventually.

I mean, I have to wait a few years before I can play a game again and not get bored. And even then, I usually don't care as much because it isn't new, so I get bored faster than before.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

Since games are now online compatible, you have more fun competing with other players around the world and you usaully never get bored. Most games now have their main focus on that now.

It's true. I usually play games on systems like the 360 or regular X - Box, and beat them like a hundred times. It's so annoying, so I just play live and try to beat other players around the world. It's more of a challenge than playing story mode and getting bored because you already know whats going to happen next in the game. Online... its a surprise.

Yeah, that's why I play games like Halo. There will always be someone better than and worse than you, so you'll never really get bored of it unless you just don't like the game in the first place.
