I guess they're legitimate enough to scare people though

the main site got a dcma notice and he's already made a blogpost about it saying that he hasn't gotten a c&d, so I'm hoping he still puts out some patches

this is great. it plays really well, and must be coded really well too because I've gotten maybe one fps issue in the 4+ hours I've put in so far. I think the pacing is a little too slow at least for the first 2 hours or so, but I'm also playing on hard. I imagine normal mode is the true experience, so maybe this isn't an issue in normal.

another issue is the music. not all of it, there are sections that are just... not as quality as I would like.

but that's it. I can't think of any other issues lol. maybe the menu screen but that just takes a bit of getting used to.

just beat it, 5:05 75% on hard mode
now it's time to run it on normal

the game was really great, bosses were challenging but then the ending boss happened and I was just sitting there feeling... like really? this was so anti-climactic some of these bosses are nuts (the tester took me maybe 30 minutes to kill lol). but fuck, the ending boss took me two tries. TWO TRIES. and this is because I accidentally hopped up next to the door on the second phase and got locked in the corner. this could have too easily been a one-shot boss. I didn't kill any other boss in one try.

also, I really did not like the omega metroid mechanics. the only thing hard about them is that they hit really fucking hard and if you get backed into a corner you're fucked. good thing there's a super convenient way to just bypass all that shit. I exploited the AI like crazy on omega/zeta metroids lol. there's nothing fun about short hopping, firing a missile, and jumping into the entrance to the room for 40 missiles. this is one of those instances where time is used to make the encounter seem hard.

at some point, the game stopped being about discovery and it started being about spending a few minutes finding a metroid and spend way more time killing one.

I'm chalking this all up to being on hard mode though. I'm assuming that you just do less damage and take more of it. normal should be a breeze now.

This is the first Metroid game I ever played, back when I got my Game Boy Color. I'm hyped. Thanks for the magnet link. Fuck you Nintendo.

Looking forward to trying this out when I have time this week Might not be able to until the weekend x.x I'm thinking of streaming it, but not sure if I should if Nintendo is bringing down the legal hammer on everything related to it =/

I just started a normal run and things are so much easier it's insane. I knew that it wouldn't be as hard but I'm legitimately laughing at how easy it is to just blow through things. to kill one of the metroids in normal, I legitimately just jumped into the magma, pointed up, and blew it to shreds. I am that not worried about the damage.

nope, just for a faster time. I'm gonna spend some time tomorrow to get to 100% then I'll start working on a sub 3:00 100% run

normal is way more fun and the tuning makes more sense. I'm glad I ran hard first though.

So today, At Nintendo's E3 conference. Another Metroid Prime game has been announced. No screens or anything, just letting us know that they're currently working on it.

Also...

Wanna know why AM2R was DMCA'd so hard? Looks like we FINALLY have a real reason instead of the typical "TO PROTECT LEGAL PROPERTIES".

On the flipside, I'm excited that Nintendo themselves were doing exactly what that one person was doing. But on the other hand, I think it was still pretty dumb of them.

Oh well.
