Re: Fucking Valve
at this point... there's no point. The reason why I never started playing Half-Life is because of the fact I know I'll want to play the third iteration.Long live the arcade!Comment

Re: Fucking Valve
I think there's actually one mod that tries to tie up the story.
"Try" is the key word here.
Like I can't fathom they intended the story to end right there. That's like if Halo 2 ended and that was all we got. No Halo 3 and beyond.

Re: Fucking Valve
The thought of this scenario happening would piss me to no end....
Still, HL2 did end kinda abrupt and I would like to see them make some kind of effort to end the series. I just don't want it to be 10 years later. They need to come up with some sort of a way to end their game. HL1 and 2 were great games, I wish they could just FINISH the damn thing already.Originally posted by hi19hi19Also why is "summon" in quotation marks as usually that signifies an alternate meaning like for example last night I "visited" your mother but it really means last night I "fucked her in the ass" so exactly what is the subtext of "summon" because I am not sure I am comfortable with the implications

Re: Fucking Valve
As far as I know the Steam version is still under development (The one that will include Xen and cost money to play)If there was never a HL3 I'd still feel satisfied with my HL1 and 2 experiences. It'd be disappointing to have no conclusion, but if you ignore episode 1 and 2 then HL2 on its own concluded well enough. However, I doubt Valve would ever let that happen.
Since we're on the topic, was Black Mesa Source ever finished? I know they released something but Xen wasn't playable yet or something?
You can, however, play Black Mesa up until the Lambda Complex where the game will end just before going through the teleporter to Xen.
For the record, I consider Black Mesa to be the best damn "Mod" I've ever had the pleasure to play through.

Re: Fucking Valve
Half-Life, (Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life: Opposing Force These are essentially optional and add side stuff that's somewhat present in Half-Life 2), Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
If you don't like the dated look and gameplay, you could just download Black Mesa but it skips the very last bit of the original story
Actually, if you want to play Black Mesa instead of the original Half-Life, I recommend playing it AFTER Episode 2 since I think it's somewhat more polished and less barren than Half-Life 2 and its episodes, lmao.
That and I feel like you don't have to even play the first game to understand the second game. In the grand scheme of things it sort of does, but not really. I feel like Half-Life 2 can be it's own dependent game from the first one. (Which I feel it was for majority of peeps when it first was released)Last edited by Charu; 03-3-2015, 03:36 PM.
