You know, I wasn't alone when I got bit....

A few weeks back....back when I got bit......I was with my best friend Riley. We did everything together and were playing around in the abandoned mall before Riley was shipped out to be with the fireflies.

Ellie and Riley smiled and laugh, running around the old Halloween store, throwing bricks at tireless cars, forgotten in this once metropolitan hotspot.

Ellie........RUN!!!!



The most vile and repulsive of the infected, a group of clickers, appeared with its signature fungal growth and echolocation abilities as the two young girls dashed towards the upper floor of the mall, ready to escape.

This way Ellie, come on LET'S GO!!!

Darting around every corners, more and more infected appeared on scene, hungry for the living flesh.

The girls finally reached the roof only to reach a scene of a broken down ladder, boarded up windows, and swarms of infected closing in. Makeshift melee weapons brutally destroyed the infected attackers until Ellie heard a shriek.

Riley was on the ground, helpless, facing a near certain death.

The infected were all gone, but at what cost? Bite marks clearly visible around the two girls' arms.

Fear, disgust, overwhelming sadness, horror, shame. Every emotion rushed through the girls as words failed to transmit through their ice cold lips.

Let's just wait it out. You know, we can be all poetic and just lose our minds together.

Facing a certain death, changing into one of them was never an option. At least they could do it together, best friends, an eternity in madness.

It appeared to be too late.....but was it?

In the night...

Joel, Ellie, and Tess walked tirelessly through the days in order to fulfill their promise. Fighting hordes of infected in broken down buildings and sneaking past rogue bandits en route to the Capitol building to deliver Ellie to the Fireflies only scratch the surface of this journey.

Finally, they arrived.

Sprinting into the doors of the cavernous, illuminated, deserted Capitol building, the three begin to look around puzzled. It appeared the Fireflies they were to meet were already dead....

No....No,this can't be. Come on, this CAN'T BE, muttered Tess frantically.
We HAVE to deliever Ellie. Maybe they have a map, look for a map Joel.

Tess, we failed, we need to return home. We'll tell Marlene we tried, there's nothing else we ca-

NO JOEL, WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING

Tess was clearly in a panic now before Ellie clicked in to what was going on.

Oh my god....she's been bit! pointed out Ellie.

Tess aggressively exposed her shoulder showing the bite marks she obtained a few hours back on their journey to the Capitol building. Tess' eyes strayed around the room, shame filled her as she prepared to make her last stand.

Soldiers approached and Tess convinced Joel that he needs to carry on the mission.

Joel, you take Ellie and you take her to the Fireflies lab, I can buy us some time from the soldiers.

No Tess, we're not gonna leave you quit being ridiculo-

JOEL, TAKE ELLIE AND GO

Tess heroically gave her life so Joel and Ellie could escape and continue the journey.

A lot happens before we meet our next protagonist on our journey. Joel and Ellie continue to develop a relationship as Ellie parallels Sarah, but Joel's introspective existence remains his main defensive mechanism. Building a car from spare parts, crashing through a trap of hunters and slaughtering them all before trekking across a barricaded renegade town by corrupt survivors yet again just scratch the surface of the journey.

By chance, you stumble into another man and his brother, Henry and Sam. Their goal is similar, they inform you of a radio tower to reach to escape the hunter infected city. You decide to join forces and embark on a careful march, killing many thugs and hunters before finally reaching the radio tower.

Henry was cooking a delicious soup as the pot crackled in the quiet morning air. Ellie arose first yawning, as Joel and Henry talked quietly.

Mmmmm, smells good! I'll go wake up sam

Ellie burst into Sam's room and into a nightmarish scene. Sam was standing there, very still, slightly twitching. He's been bit......

Oh, what the fuck exclaimed Joel as the door burst down, Ellie on the ground straddles by an infected Sam. Joel grabbed his gun to shoot Sam before Henry pulled out his gun and aimed it at Joel.

That's my brother man, MY BROTHER! exclaimed Henry with tears in his eyes.

Silence on the ground as a gunshot was heard and Sam's lifeless body fell off of Ellie. Shock was apparent as Henry pointed the gun towards them, with tears in his eyes.

This is all your fault Henry cried.

This is nobody's fault, he got bit. Put the gun down, you don't have to do this. The tension was insurmountable.

He turned the gun on himself......

Crying and not wanting to live in this world anymore, Henry quickly shoots himself in the head. You will not be forgotten. It's okay, they're not the bad guys.

Probably. Strange that they'd elect to leave a town sided SK alive over V who could've just ended up as a VT, but I do see why he was killed. Maybe he was on the right trail with Ben?
