you can ONLY do that in C9++ where there's no known roles and wolves don't get a chance to talk first was the point
C9++ is the only balanced game where wolves are naked day 1 and you have a reasonable chance of hitting one due to the complete chaos and lack of coordination.

really? seems like any game with a daystart and no outside communication would fit the bill.
wolves know way more about the roles in day 1 than humans do in C9++
To start off I just want to say I wasn't angry at anyone or anything anyone said this game, I was more pissed off that I basically got fucked because something was ambiguous to me.
This was the exact message I got:
This was confusing to me because it doesn't state anywhere that this was what I got for betraying. It doesn't even have a different message title like some said it should have had.
Now aside from the message even had I known this was a power, I think this is the most BS thing ever. It's essentially forcing the person to lie if they don't get a power because they're not allowed to speak about the gamble. I haven't been in previous games but I think that's pretty messed up. Then I thought it was kinda messed up that after already going through a 50/50 shot of getting a power that I then had a 1 in 18 chance of guessing the right person to actually get a power. I can't consider gambling for a power an actual power, that just doesn't make sense to me.
Anyways, I hope that everyone can see where my confusion was in this. Sorry to be the newbie newb and all but I hope to play again soon and not end up fucking something silly like this up nest time.
Ok Fojar, what the hell dude? Why would you even think sending a PM like that to someone who is playing their first game is a good idea? That is confusing for me and I know what all of those words mean. Psychoangel, I agree that this was BS. Everyone is giving V a pat on the back but what really let the wolves win was this awful, awful hosting
aww cmon. yes that was rough, but no that should not take credit away from the winners of this game. that was one day. humans had 4 other days to get things right.
i don't typically care about winners and losers overall i care about good plays and that's what i take away from each game. danceguy made most of the best plays this game.
afrobean was starting to look down the right avenues. it seemed just as he was getting back into his TWG groove we killed him. (i hope he sticks around as his human game is incredible and his wolf game has a creepily awesome self-awareness)
what ultimately defines a twg game is how people act and think when they know the game is on the line, and those are the plays that make it interesting. the other interesting plays are humans pulling a wolf read out of the ether through sheer intuition and then rallying their fellow humans to act. the latter is always the more impressive play because it is so much harder to pull off successfully after D1, and so hard to actually have the correct insight on D1 itself.
had danceguy not gotten fucked by the mistakes of his teammates, i was convinced this would have been brought to a 3-person endgame which i would not participate in. this is now the second wolf game in a row for me where i have been actively worried about the "danceguy problem" from somewhere around mid day 1.
like i don't think i can actually articulate this in a way that gets the point across fully, but if there is any role you want danceguy to have as a human it is vanilla green. few people perform their best in that situation consistently.

ehh, I didn't mean it that way! V did play a great game. I just think that some hosting decisions really fucked the humans over, and I feel bad for the new players who didn't really get to play
VT is for sure the role I'm most comfortable with at this point. time will tell what happens from here haha.
my reads happened to be good this game. one thing I learned and am honestly excited by is how little that can matter at times.
as soon as I put my vote back on manti in day 3, I knew I was probably fucked. you guys had all of the chess pieces in place. gg.

true that true that. more games soon, and quicker ones, by the looks of it!

V played a GREAT game, and although the wolves overall played a fucking awful game, the humans played an even worse one. Irregardless of hosting, there were rampant BAD human gambits and lies and stupid choices and awful lynches. We only nailed one wolf, and if not for the masterful wolf powers of V, I don't think I could have encouraged everyone else to take him down. Even with an ideal host who made ideal choices, our team still would have lost. We didn't stand a chance with such bad plays going around, and with our only wolf getting downed thanks to the push of ANOTHER wolf.
Incidentally, I'd like to once again argue for Lynch All Liars. We all need to adopt it so that stupid shit like jrodd and BDN pulled last game is not done in the future. Lying CANNOT be abided, because when it is, you open the door for reds to lie however they want without fear of repercussions. If a person wants to lie in this game, they need to understand that they might get lynched for it. Jrodd and BDN had no fear of this. This is wrong.
Furthermore, I'd like to propose this "ecco gambit". Think of it as a corollary to lynch-all-liars: lynch-all-lurkers. Lurking should not be abided either. If we lynch all of the lurkers and we end up losing the game because we lynched all of our greens without taking out the wolves too, then we weren't going to win the game anyway because those incompetent greens weren't going to win the game for us anyway.

When I died, my top suspects were the remaining wolves... except with Tokzic instead of you. When I got paired with him, I was like "Wow, I'm glad I'm supposed to betray him, because I don't want to trust him." But that dude didn't follow the dilemma plan, and he chose to distrust me. Me! How dare he?! I was like "Oh, he is DEFINITELY a wolf now!" And then I died and I was like "Yep, I saw that coming." But I guess I was wrong. Haha.
I honestly expected to open the thread like 5 minutes after that last day started and see my name bolded by every single player, including my fellow wolves. Why you guys didn't lynch me on that day, I have no idea.
