Tass, I would think that you of all people would be opposed to a rule that says "You're not allowed to try and find ways around the rules." It's so anathema to everything you practice.

I don't think Chardish's idea is as crazy as it sounds, I think it will play out rather smoothly. Plus it gets everyone thinking about new strategies.

Kilga's comment is saying this... any clear attempt to use a loophole in the rule is not allowed. We know the flaws in the vigi. So accept the fact that Whorli is using the vigi WITHOUT the ability to come out.

How about this... make it REAL easy... THE VIGI CAN'T TELL ANYONE HE IS THE VIGI. ONCE HE KILLS SOMEONE, CLEARLY HE'S THE VIGI AND AN ALLIANCE CAN BE FORMED WITH HIM... until then, he's purely green and has nothing special to tell anyone.

So then everyone else comes out as the vigi, since the real vigi is the only one who isn't allowed to say it.

Chardish: When I make the rules, I'm ok with them. Besides, it was my idea as to how the vigi got screwed in the 1st place. I wanna have the bastard back in a way that is fair.

voting chardish i find it incredibly interesting and have toyed aroudn with this idea for a while myself. I'm very scared A) of cheating in whorli's game
and B) it not mattering... the vigi is still broken.

Not really. I don't particularly care for all these ad hoc rules changes. I seriously doubt that the vigi would keep his mouth completely shut and not, say, drop not-so-subtle hints to other players, not coming out but not being too secretive about it.

Also, this doesn't solve the problem of post-vigi alliances. Someone has to come out. Someone has to use their power. So what happens after the vigi is used? An anonymous vigi might work, or making it a kamikaze, but the problem we ran into before was the post-vigi alliance.

No. Post-vigi alliance is fine. Pre-vigi alliance is what is bad.

They also aren't ad hoc rule changes... they are rewordings so that you asses will stop trying to work around the rule.

All right, all right. You all complained enough and so there will be no vigi in my game. Fish is editing it now. I hope everyone will be happy and start voting based on the game they want to play, and not on who has more flaws.

Because Afro and I have definately hosted before.

I know my game may be a bit confusing, so I understand if I lose. I don't really like the roles in Whorli's game, and Chardish should wait one more game to work out all the kinks. I'm going to have to vote Tps222, because he has been waiting to host since like TWG X.

Uh.. I just thought of something, and I'm probably thinking too far ahead, but okay:

I kinda think the no boyfriend/girlfriend playing together rule should extend to hosting/playing, as well. I'm not insinuating that Tass would use his wiles to learn all the roles if Whorli hosted (seriously, I'm not), but things happen and people find things out. I learned Guido was blue, and all the other blues, completely by accident -- I got on his computer, opened AIM, which auto-signed him in, and some blue immediately IMed him and started talking blue stuff.

Maybe it shouldn't be, like, a ban against people playing when their significant other/close friend is hosting, but I figure it should at least be out in the open, you know? I was at Guido's while he was hosting, and I definitely used his computer without bothering to close his AIM.
