attentive readers will note that this post is filled with hypocricy as Patashu is known to step hard keyboard files and it logically follows that a very good pad player would only be interested in pad files of a challenging difficulty

Nageki no ki and Mei are 13s, I just rated them as 12 to keep it consistent with IIDX. This pack is meant to be viewed on IIDX like themes.

'keeping it consistent with IIDX' is a kind of weird idea seeing as the ddr footer scale and the iidx block scales aren't measuring difficulty over the same range

Nageki no Ki is a moderate 11 for the entire file, until the 24th burst. Other than that one section, it is nowhere near a 13. Mid-high 12. Layering for the first part of the file is repetitive.

Mei is a low-mid 12. Absolutely awful layering, awkward footing, parts where the piano was followed perfectly, others where it was understepped, and others where it was overstepped for no reason whatsoever. The 24th gallop part was stupid as well; might as well just have put a hold there.

Neither of those files is hard other than the awkward footing.

Going through more of the files, most of these are pretty boring. The kaiden charts are pretty repetitive, and nowhere near doing the song actual justice.

The audience we were serving was the "Intermediate to Advanced" players. Not everyone in the world enjoys ridiculously hard simfiles, and some of these songs don't need to be ridiculously hard either.
