Anyway, using 5ths/9ths/whatever on Stepmania isn't practical. Therefore, using Notepad is useless.
However, if you actually wanted to Stepmania, you'd have to listen to the music. Specifically, you'd have to listen to it over and over again to make sure that the steps go to the music. That doesn't sound very fun.
