So what I wanna know is....

Is Rotten Heresy just fuckin terrible take it out back and put it out of its misery, or is it an otherwise good file that got shit on cause ~bursts~ and ~right hand trill~

I can't actually get to the part with the bursts but they look pretty flowy and actually kinda fun.

Though some of the ones later in the file I'd have debated charting, but to each their own.

tldr: I wish I was good enough to play the whole thing.

Pack looks well put together, it has an array of songs to choose from that don't overlap genre wise overwhelmingly based on previews, looks like a great pack actually. Reviews were quick and thoughtful, but didn't seem like it trounced on anyone for charting their own way.

If anything this is one of the better put together packs.

I wasn't gonna download this because it seemed out of my preference range but now I think I'm gonna go play a few more files.

Time to grab my headphones and see this Pico file...

Sunset Cafe Terrance is really fun as well. But I'm a sucker for 12th and 24th files.

I'm here to talk about how Violent Arcade is one of the best dump files I've ever played in my stepmania life
it deserves better gfx

I haven't played the pack much buut
Adularia is good
Ataxia II is way too long for what it is, you should have stopped after the first main burst of 24th so it could have been enjoyable and concise, otherwise the steps are good but 4 minutes worth of 12th notes is really tepid and redundant
Pictionary Title Screen is a music that would make for a cool file but jombo failed to properly draw the complete potential of the music in their file, which saddens me

Chirality has prolly my most favorite gfx. Im wondering how u made it look chipped inside the black font. im guessing its the same concept with the pack banner where the background takes affect

Yes you're right, I use a slightly different technique for the pack banner than for the Chirality gfx but the main method is basically the same.
First of all I'm reducing the [fill opacity] of the involved layer to 0

As for the pack banner, I put a white a color overlay, with the [exclusion] blend mode on the style to make it "clash" with the background. I make my way with some mix of backgrounds that will give me a certain global nuance of colours so the shade that would be given by the font would be somehow golden (as it gets totally dependent on what is placed behind the layer).
Then I apply a inner and outer glow effect, and a drop shadow to refine the result and you have it

As for Chirality, the main body of the font is left basically intact, as I just put a black gradient with [Hard Light] blend mode so the background is left only partially visible.
The second main step is that I put a reasonably sized white stroke with, once again, ~exclusion~ blend mode so it gives out a very chaotic outline for the font.
Then it's just refining with a drop shadow and white inner light.

Currently downloading because there were a few packs that weren't on smo.net that I knew about and wanted to download (this being one) but there was another one where hi19 submitted another ver of Quad Blasting but I forget the name of pack/thread so if anyone can point me into the right direction you'll get much <3s~
