if notecharting is a subjective interpretation of a piece of music then a "dump" is just notecharting on the more liberal end of the interpretation spectrum
there's no reason that "dumps" can't be imaginative, dynamic, fun, and well crafted (rhythmically-sensical), just as there's no reason that there can't be strictly technical interpretations of a song that are boring and unplayable (of which there are very, very many)
