Some unofficial reviews for Shadow God's partial files, keep in mind these are my opinions strictly and do not necesarily represent the other judges thoughts since they haven't all played them. That being said we do tend to agree on a lot of things.

Grey Tide
Looks awesome so far, depending on how much of this song you step it might feel like it drags on a bit though, but what you sent so far was really fun. This would likely be accepted, the jack parts would appeal to us a lot. Suffers from some inaccuracies in terms of rythms (in the fast parts) but for the sake of playability and not being rainbowshit its close enough.

No Money Down, Low Monthly Payments
This one I'm personally not so sure on. The beginning is really really really easy, and I can see where you're going with it (towards the end of the WIP) but it just doesn't play that well in my opinion. I had a hard time associating the hard parts with the music, and it might be technically accurate it just doesn't work for me. The other thing is I went from getting like, literally 2 perfects in the first part to having a hard time maintaining combo in the second, so the spike in difficulty really doesn't feel too good considering how long the first part is.

Ocean Gateways
Fuck. Yes. This is awesome so far. Just try to make sure the rythms are accurate, there are quite a few inaccuracies throughout, mostly towards the end of the WIP. Pretty much garaunteed accept if you take your time with this. Sync felt a tiny bit off, as well. Maybe early by 25ms or so.

Me and Skwid aren't planning on making anything else for the pack so there'll still be probably a week or two before we fill up. Depends on caliber and any other submissions basically.

Ok after some internal discussion or whatever we decided that submissions will be open until Dec. 10th, regardless of the number of files we get.

We will plan on releasing on Christmas Day. There's a big gap in time between the two because I will be out of the country from the 16th through 24th so yeah.


Reviews coming for a couple files this weekend.

Quick reviews. Just a quick reminder first, we'll be taking submissions through Dec. 10th, but we really really don't need any more "easy" files. We're really looking for some challenging files to fill the rest of the pack, these reviews will reflect that.

Haven't really done this for a file yet so bear with me here. The file is good now but unfortunately since you first submitted and now we have added a lot more easy files to the pack, and we feel that in general the pack is too easy for our tastes at the moment. I would be happy to include this file in a future pack (Vol. 3 will likely happen in late winter-spring 2014) but if you want to submit this to other packs instead of waiting I understand. This would definitely be an accept if the pack wasn't a little too easy in general at the moment, sorry bud.

Sorry bud, have a few gripes with this song. Song is a little weird, which could be forgivable but the steps are a little on the easy side for a breakcore file and since we already have a couple easy-ish breakcore files in the pack I'm gonna pass on this one. Also what is with that "Fuck That Shit" sample right at the end? lol..
