You should do what everybody else is telling you and get Max, its just that i find the songs on DDRMax is better than Max2.
For a pad, what i did is bought this random knockoff pad for bout 20 bucks which is tolerable (there isn't even a brandname on the box), then took a piece of floor board and duck taped it too it so it wont move.
