I picke dup guitar hero for first time and did good on the 2nd to last difficultie..
I played FFR for like 5 hours just to come close to doing OK on the legend of zelda XD

I like DDR better than GH too . . .

haha, yeah a fc on guitar hero means **** if the song is easy. I actually entered the official gamespot tournament and got crushed on medium mode and i fc'd all of the songs. star power path and the whammy bar both influence the score and make any song almost impossible to get all points on.

EDIT: guitar hero is definitely more difficult, and much more competitive IMO. I think if people actually practiced ffr rather than going "**** that" when they see other people play they'd realize that an AAA is a lot easier than an optimal guitar hero score.

guitar hero has no timing windows whatsoever, making FFR alot harder. period

Guitar Hero is only harder when you have 1000 notes fit into 1 second..... then you really need to MASH. other than that guitar hero is easier...... then again; I'm pro at it :$

On a technical level, FFR simply requires you to hit 4 different keys, while Guitar Hero requires you to not only be coordinated with 5, but it adds a strum button. This is all assuming you play guitar, of course, but even on a dualshock controller, you are hitting 5 buttons instead of 4. Based on that alone, I'd say Guitar Hero is the "harder game", taking into consideration the fact that both games offer a number of really tough levels.

Not only that, FFR has no concept of variable scoring other than how well you performed; there are all sorts of scores that could occur in Guitar Hero because of Star Power. A full combo isn't worth the same for everybody anymore. Taking that into consideration, you also need to learn how to activate Star Power on the fly and when to activate it, requiring more memorization.

I think it's pretty clear that Guitar Hero requires more. Whether or not it's "harder" than FFR ultimately relies on how much practice the person judging has in the two seperate games. But Guitar Hero is harder to learn, certainly.

Guitar Hero gets my vote, although the poll is closed.

FFR I suck at FGOs and I was able to play songs on Hard the first time I played GH.

Plus GH has no timing judgement and makes it even easier to keep a combo. If GH had perfects and stuff there'd probably be barely any 5*s and it'd probably be harder.

I think FFR is more difficult because for me, it's hard to play the songs with just using the little key arrows. Guitar Hero is something you can easily master, imo.

It depends on how you play FFR as opposed to Guitar Hero. It's all dexterity.

True, but I thought we were talking about playing difficulty, not perfecting difficulty. To perfect a score on GH, you'd have to be a robot... or at least ChadCasket.


Guitar Hero is harder to pick up than FFR.
It's harder to survive a song in Guitar Hero than FFR.
It's harder to full combo a song in Guitar Hero than FFR.
It's harder to optimize a score in Guitar Hero than FFR.
Guitar Hero is technically more involving, which makes it harder than FFR.

But...
FFR is harder to get good at, so in my opinion FFR is the harder game.

To answer the question of which one is harder, lets look at this from the point of view of a guy who loves rhythm games, but in GH, gets stuck on songs that all of his friends can do perfectly, while on FFR, cant get AAA on Very Diffucult. (if you havent figured it out by now, im talking about myself)

When i first tried GH, i did pretty good for the first 2 diffuculties, but when i got to hard, i hit a brick wall. When I saw that all of my friends had moved onto hard with no trouble at all, i started playing again and, after 3 months of trying was able play hard. However, to THIS DAY i cannot complete Raining Blood on hard (i realize im just asking for all of you guys to say that Raining Blood is easy on EXPERT for you.)

When i first tried FFR, i took to it instantly, but i was just passing songs, not getting AAA. I thought i was good since i could mash my way through through a For masters only song, but i was wrong.

So which one is harder? How am i supposed to know? I say that both of them are equally hard.

But if i was pressed to say it, FFR is definitley harder.

It takes much more practice to get good at Gh than FFR. I got good at FFR pretty quickly. I had GH3 for a couple of months now and I'm still struggling with many songs. GH is harder. There are more techniques to master in GH too.
