Dang, I bought the exact same kind of pad for $35. Just because GameStop didn't have the pad my brother bought there anymore. ($20 with twice as much foam as this crap) Now it's tearing apart because I forgot to keep my pad flat, and the crease tore like paper. I only bought another pad because the old one formed a crease under the Up arrow, which kept it stuck all the time. Had it for two years, and now I just tape it under the Madcatz pad. I wonder if my 5-year warranty covers this bleepin' stuff.

I'd use my Pump It Up pad (SO much better), but the up, left, down & right buttons are too tiny.

Works great so far but theres kind of a crease or wire that i can feel with my right foot when i hit the right arrow, but its not really enough to bother me and it doesn't make the arrow stuck or anything.

One of my friends bought a MadCatz Dance pad and the left and down buttons don't work anymore. He only plays with his ITG pad or borrows his friends Red Octane pad. Red Octane Dance Pads work with the computer, they're just...expensive.

I really think the only GOOD thing about MadCatz is their memory cards.

I plan on taping mine down to a piece of plywood or plywood-esque square because it keeps sliding around on me, not terribly bad sliding but enough so that I'm hitting the broken TV behind me with my ankles or sliding towards my piano.

Since I've never owned a dance pad before I gotta ask, does this harm the pad or decrease the time it will last?

Dude, no, it makes it last 4 times as long. I've been using my $10 madcats for almost a year now. The thing has absolutely terrible timing, but that's just because the product is bad, it still registers steps ok... My konami official one is dead (it wasn't on a piece of plywood) so I'd say it increases the time.

I'm going to buy a CF though because I kind of want to get good at this game. But with the thing stuck to a piece of plywood I've managed to pass two DukAmok edit steps for DDR (.59 and Absolute... I got an A and a B respectively) which both have lots of 16th runs and stuff, so with it on plywood you can do alright. But timing wise its just **** and you get random missteps.

If you're not willing to fork out $300 though... whatever it works and you can still have fun.

Madcatz is a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY bad company. Their products suck ass. Even a cheap half-ass working pad would beat a Madcatz pad.

And BTW, I haven't put in all the REALLY's... about 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 of them cut out.

Not all their products are bad,just their dance pads. I think I had a madcatz one when I first started out on DDR...it ended up RIPPING the player 1 controller socket out of the PS2. Other than that,their controllers,PSP and DS accessories are pretty good.

Well I wish I had plywood, I looked everywhere and all I found where peices that were either too small, the wrong witdth/lenghth, or a piece of a wall. But I remember going to the dump at my cabin and finding a whole buttload of brand new plywood, which I took. So next time I go to my cabin I'll bring some back.
