I checked it out and I'm still confused as to something.

How is the gameplay? Is it a panel'd dance game, or not? And if so, how are the panels positioned (ie similar to ITG/DDR or something like PIU)?

I like it, sounds like a good idea. And very fun. I was so hyped about it that I stepped my own version to "Night Time Story" the second I saw it on that site this morning. ^_-;;

What are the differences, if you can/want to say at this point, between DTX and DDR?

The music, from what I have listened to in the downloads section is very good and I also expect the steps to be top notch with the names you have on your team. Seems that it will turn out to be a high quality game. Good job to both you and your team

u guys i don't get what to do, i'm in dancetrax but i don't see any levels to play or anything. Just mp3s to listen to. If you could help me out this would be most appreciated

Dancetrax is not an online game. It is an arcade game much like DDR or ITG which is going to be released soon. It features many FFR artists, and the stepcharts are made by popular rhythm music community simfiles artists, most notably Arch0wl, who used to be an admin here and he has many stepcharts in FFR.

I'd have to agree. The songs sound great, and I look foward to playing them in a game.

However, if the play style is similar to DDR, isn't the game staff worried about legal action? Just wondering.

Sometimes, the best information can be found at the boards where the DTX team hangs out the most in (thought more infor on the game will stir up more conversation.)

From the DDRFreak thread dedicated to the game:

Depends on what sort of chart you are talking about, the harder charts easily surpase a 700 combo for 2 minute songs. The "foot" ranking system will NOT be used here, we will have another difficulty gauge instead. And the cost has yet to be confirmed.

The cabinet will cost less the DDR's cabinet and significantly less than ITG2's cabinet. What can I say... outsourcing saves money. So we will be giving the arcades a REALLY good price.
