So it turns out the location test of DDR A started in the UK today, it's gonna last 12 weeks so thats plenty of time for myself/anyone else to go to London and play it

12 weeks feels like a long time for a location test compared to most other bemani games but I'm not complaining

debating going to London next week to play it

It's very worth playing the game if you haven't tried it out.

I'm located near quite a few of these machines now - Been just casually playing it about twice a week now if my Achilles don't act up. I really like the E-Amusement cards that can keep track of your highest scores.

I think the arcade where the location test is being held is selling some E-amuse cards and if there's any left ill definitely pick one up.

Now i'm going this Saturday and gonna try and get a good couple of hours on the game to get a feel for it/ play a whole bunch of charts that I need to play from X2/X3/DDR2014 respectively

So that's 53 charts total, I don't think ill get through all the stuff I want to play in one day and I do plan to go back at least once more over the summer. Luckily the arcade opens at 9am and I'll be there until 4:30 so as long as i get 15+ of those charts done I'll be happy. (obviously ill have to accommodate for others who want to play)

Also I know most of these charts are pretty high rated (almost all are 14+) but most of these songs are more interesting rhythmically then the boss songs im used to (I'm kinda limited to the first few max songs on bad pads at my local arcade) so I want to take advantage of using good pads to play hard songs. I did this when I went to go and play ITG earlier in the year also and that worked out pretty well so who knows

I also have a few charts to play just to try and PFC them, I have a few songs with 1-3 greats on Supernova that might be PFC'able in DDR A, stuff like 1998, BRILLIANT 2U, Holic etc.

I passed EGOISM on Beginner (cause I'm a DDRscrub that can't decently play anything above 10 at the moment). As stated earlier, I said I would play Over the "Period" and I did...and actually passed. Seeing the chart on YouTube and playing are two totally different animals. The timing patterns are soooo weird....yet soooo fun!

Here's the other set of scores I did. I freaking love Elemental Creation.

Going to give EC a shot on Basic next...it's an 11. Oh dear...

Well I visited London today and managed to get quite a few sets in on DDR A
The pads are far better than my local machine, but it does have an issue where the sound is quite quiet. The arcade got pretty busy later on and has a bunch of other rhythm based games (Pump/Itg/DJMAX etc) so it becomes very difficult to hear the songs amongst the variety of noise.
Also didn't play all the hard stuff since it turns out I suck at anything 15+. Played a bunch of old stuff I like and some new easier charts.
Still had a blast though and I'm gonna dump some scores here

Gonna separate them into overviews and individual scores for easiness. Also going in order of when I got them
I missed a couple of SS's for overall sets because im stupid/phone camera being annoying

Not bad for a first set


Blew my mind is bad, the other two are good


Forgot to SS pierce the sky, was a pretty poor run anyway so w/e, other two were okay


Probably the best set of the day overall.

About halfway through playing I was able to get one. Cost me £5 which was pretty reasonable. At least I finally have one now.

EDIT: Worth noting that my timing felt a lot better on older songs (Extreme or older) then anything newer, either newer songs are slightly later (and more on-sync) or i'm so used to playing older stuff that im still used to the timing of those as opposed to newer songs.

My best advice is to either go to Dr.D's YouTube channel and go to the DDR Talk video that contains the link of all locations that have DDR A, or you can go to the Zenius-I-Vanisher website and see if there any DDR A arcades near where you live.
