    a veiwer in MP

OK, so I'm watching two people play about lv 15 each, and you know you can watch the host's more active update in detail by acting like the guest and loading the song. So I did, and it's good practice when I want to go up against someone good, you get the timing of the lag. So I watch, guest fails, and what do you know, he left! I try to claim his spot, while the game still goes, and wow, an indentification error and redirect to fbi.com.

I know how this happened (code-wise), but I just wanted to point this out.

for those of you who want to know my specs:
    IE7
everything is deleted after I "X" out a window
    384mb, two separate sticks
and the most recent updates to play the game.

Truely, this is an ID code error though, I'd suggest to Synth or whomever puts in the MP code, to fail all viewers as soon as one leaves, that should fix the problem.

Uhm, it's still implemented because you shouldn't join while the game's still playing. Same as if you leave before the songs over, etc. All illegal acts in mp get redirected there.
That's cool Mario, but how come whenever you eat mushrooms, everything gets bigger but your dick?

you also shouldn't play the song while the 2 people are playing each other. it makes them lag more.

hmm, my experience and hardware tells me this isn't so, as when you play in viewer mode, you are not sending info, only receiving, thus giving you lag, not the either players.

Also to back this, all who are in the room get the numbered stats as it is, in "playing" the song in viewer mode, your computer is processing the stats so it shows then in the ingame animations, this isn't a database process.

And since I play WiFi (G), I know when I get lag, because it happens for at most a second, and I don't get any on 1P, but if there's a delay in getting the stats on MP, I better pay attention to the next arrows and time it right.

            As for lag issues:
            >>
I see some who some in and paste-enter stuff like:
spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam
I say a cap on a room's limit of characters, 75 shold do it.
            >>
you should have a toggle for showing the, supposedly active, opponent arrows, that should clear half the lag issues.

            bit off topic, sorry.

well, i have basically 0 lag, ever... only if someone spams over and over and over again will i notice it.

i usually can tell when someone is playing along with us.

never tried it, but logic tells me this is incorrect. lag is caused due to an inability to send or recieve information on some end. chances are that with most people, it's their upband (i.e. upload). when you view them playing, they not only have to send their stats to the other player but also to the viewer also, effectively doubling the amount of data that needs to be sent and stretching the tubes thinner.

just going off of my thought process here. this may or may not be accurate, although it makes sense.

The Defence is ready, your Honor. (I had to do this, just got to play Phoenix Wright)

well, when you are viewing but not playing there is virtually no lag, as simpistic data is sent, 16 variables are sent, + strings, and maybe a couple of others, the strings (chat) bring an apparent lag depending on size. But the variables are not unless in quick succession due to a delay for what reason. The players obviously get the lag, as the rapid animations take tremendous amount of processing, because of forced animation(whether you see it or not, it's there), in such a short time. This is also appent when the viewers play, but they don't send, thus not adding to the lag.

The true lag is in the computer, and the players are hit most and only affected by each other in the sence of the game, the chat is the only outside lag source possible.

I have some evidence in this, as I played CP twice in MP, and couldn't pull off the jackthrill, the animation lag made it so my FFR app's respond time was bogged and didn't register, I really don't want to have to get vid of this just to prove a point, but if I must, I must.

                    Re: a veiwer in MP

I haven't noticed any significant change in the amount of lag with an extra person playing. However, if you really want to make sure you're not lagging anyone, you could play the song in single player, in another window, while they're playing it in MP, and I seriously doubt that would lag them.

                      *Holds 'Y'* "Objection!"

This contradicts the ID coding, as you are in 1P and MP?, the program has all regular player's position limit to one spot. Playing and viewing in two windows would have the coding read two spots, the coding would thus kick in, and sending you to the fbi.com. True, you can have two 1P windows open, but the coding only reads your 1P spot when you're playing. Now MP is a different story, it has a limit on usernames, one for each. Because of this, you can't have 2 MP windows with the same user. One way around this is you go to MP, log off in another window, log in another account, enter MP on that one, and you cheated the system. I don't know if you guys have an IP limit, but this would arise complaints, as many people have more than one computer in the house with the same internet connection.

Now, do you guys, as players have proof of someone playing in viewer mode?, no, unless they admit it, and I don't know anyone else who even does viewer MP, they'd say it's a waste of time. I wouldn't, as my sig states, "I don't do MP for level", I can care less about it, as MP would be, so called, "wasting my time" as well. Reason for this is because my computer is the only MP computer I can get on, library too, but 5 miles on a bike uphill(mostly)?, not worth it. My computer has WiFi on top, massive lag, but not to me (only in small incidents), even Shash would be frustrated with the lag I give, so I don't want others to get hit for something I can't help. I tested with my ground-line connected computer with my bro, I had the WiFi one, and he had lag through the roof. No joke. As I had little lag, and I FC'ed (CIA Rave), and he usually gets an FC until the running man, but his combo was about 150, and this was a good day for him.
