I don't "hunger" for power, I'd just like to lend my services.

Either way, the main part of my post wasn't campaigning for me, it was to give advice as to who should be an mp mod. There are plenty of mature people on this site who would do a great job, but are overlooked simply because they aren't extremely good at ffr or tend not to visit the mp that much. I assure you, more people would visit the mp if it wasn't so full of dumbasses.

Sigh, I'm not begging, but I do know I would do a great job and would help out a lot. But whatever, wether I get chosen or not doesn't really affect me and I certainly wouldn't and am not begging to be a mod.

I can think of plenty of people who would do a great job, and what do you know? They're pretty much from the forum, but guess what? They're not even considered because they aren't topping lists or high scores.

FYI... about 6 months ago we considered modding a few people who were forum regs but never went into MP. we later decided that didn't make sense...

and clearly it doesn't. because even after saying 100 different times to contact the mods when there are spammers, people still don't. so those who don't go in MP will clearly never have any idea when anyone spams.

it's like me being a video chat mod... it was given to me purely as an honorary thing. i don't ever go in vid chat. in practical terms, it is less than pointless.

it only makes sense to mod people who a) actually support the feature they would be modding and b) are mature enough to handle the responsibility of the mod client.

the difference between the vid chat mods and mp mods is that vid chat mods are just a re-coding, then their powers are purely within the flash program. very easy to remove. mp mods are given a seperate client which they run to access their mod powers... much more dangerous to give that out to people who shouldn't have it.

And it's a coincidence that three out of the four mods have alot of highscores, no way Tass and Shash picked me and Kit- because we are necessarily "good" at FFR.

That is what makes it so hard then. A million or so possible clients for the job, and none of them but maby a Fraction of a hand full are worthy of it.

Maby you should let the current mods vote on who should get added, seeing as how they are the mature part of the chat, they would know who else is good for it, from what they see in there. *even though i'm sure this has already been considered*

....of course the decision for new mods is put to all of the current mods. lol. but in the end, shash and I have basically the final say... synth has final say, but he really has no reason not to trust our judgement.

but, yea. the point remains... kit, scottish, shash, myself... none of us have any other good candidates for modding currently. there are a solid handful that are close, IMO... but their behavior would need to be more heavily watched over the next month or two to decide.

i would vote myself as a mod being im online 24/7 usually and its either work or ffr and i would not mind cleaning up the rooms because it kinda sucks trying to have a convo and seeing SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM but yeah some of the mods make incorrect moves also

The problem with the "trial and error" idea is that the mod client would be a very very very bad thing for a non-mod to have, and there's no way to take away the mod client from someone once they have it (even without a mod account, the mod client can still be used harmfully). So really, the mod client can only be given to people who are ABSOLUTELY trustworthy, plus mature and active...and we really don't think anyone in MP, besides us four, fits those criteria. We're always on the lookout for good candidates, though.

Oh, and asking to be a mod never helps your chances, and it all but eliminates them unless you were under consideration in the first place...so don't bother asking.
