in other words, any tips for how to get win 10 to be lag free. Because I've tried about everything I can think of and your tip here helped a bit clean my lag up, but it's still got some bad stutter at sections like I can play through it fine but it DOES affect my score x.x

For myself, I use FP12 and run OBS in the background to obtain the more fluid runs while playing. Of course, there will be the few plays that are bad with FPS but after dealing with it for so long, it really doesn't affect my scores anymore (except it always affects amazing accuracy because timing window).

Zenith did you check your settings for this? This solved Hakus problem who also used the OBS method, and i think this solves that stutter, I bet your min cpu state is 100%

Flash player 12, as opposed to 11 or 10 when using a standalone.

And you really ought not to play FFR in a browser.

Edit: Some people have had better luck with fp9 even, but I haven't tested this threads fix with those people so idk if fp version will even be very relevant after this, could use some feedback from fp9 users prior to this fix, assuming it impacted you

It's never too late, follow wikia guides on standalone, performance, and check the "guide" in this thread and read this threads posts and that should be all the things (so far). I'm not sure FFR can be much more optimized beyond this point until windows does something else terrible

Was at 5%, went to 0%, not much of a difference yet

If that kills the transparency elements of window panes (Such as those present in Windows Aero (W7) and Metro (W8)) then it's what you want.

oh well if you just need to kill transparency, it's in the color options

Settings > Personalization > Colors > go to the bottom and turn off "Make Start, taskbar and action center transparent"

the one thing that this doesn't kill is the shading on open windows; i haven't figured that one out yet. windows are opaque by default but they drop shadows around their sides. i have a matlab program that produces 144 figures and it looks awful when they all stack lol

100% is definitely the worst setting it can be, 1% and 5% being other values I've seen set arent nearly as impactful but I can't think of a reason they shouldn't be 0%

You prolly wanna play with those settings a fair bit to see if anything else improves performance
