Re: New Songs: September 29th, 2011
This really does seem like a recurring problem :/ maybe before songs are put in game, the songs that are chosen, those step artists could be notified so that if they wanted to make any last second corrections then they would still have the opportunity to do so. Yes, it somewhat should be the step artist's responsibility to fix their file in a timely manner if they want to, but not everyone has free time any time they want.
Just a suggestion/idea.Glorious Morning - Misc, level 48
We Will Fly - Dance 2, level 53
=.The Ocean.= - Dance 2, level 56, collab with krunkykai22
Garden Party - Dance, level 38Comment

Re: New Songs: September 29th, 2011
Mhm we did want to fix a couple of things based on judge notes that didn't get done before the file was released, but no big. Also, the song actually just ends there, wasn't a cut. I find the same thing, though, I feel as though it could have gone on a lot longer.Papyrus's Adventure
The first thing I noticed is that the name uses old-fashioned grammar, because that kind of thing bothers me. The more contemporary version is "Papyrus' Adventure." Whatever.
Song was somewhere between Indiana Jones and Pokemon Route 11. I love that "adventure movie" style music. The ending was such a fake-out though, I felt like it ended at least 2 times before the actual ending. Very Rossini (classic music joke).
File was fun, the burst difficulty was a little extreme though. Could have stepped things such as the drum rolls in the beginning around 100 combo, or the cello tremolos around 360 combo as trills in order to smooth out the file somewhat. Overall not bad, I will probably play this for the FC then forget about it for a long time and come back many months from now and be all like "wow this song is really cool."Comment

Yes, very yes. You have to know what I'm talking about, in all his pieces he does that "omg huge buildup and final chord structure... jk gonna keep going" it pisses me off, I can't enjoy and of his endings because of it, they're all like 20+ seconds too long :/Comment

Re: New Songs: September 29th, 2011
Beethoven does a lot of those seemingly never-ending finales in his sonatas and such. It's humorous.
By the way, this is actually the full title of the song:
Papyrus's Adventure (Overture~Paprika and Orange~Arms and the man~Grand Finale~Mind)
I guess the full title describes each section of the song.Last edited by bmah; 09-29-2011, 04:32 PM.Comment

Papyrus' Adventure was MAD fun. Absolutely loved it. Great job, you two!
Playing the other three now.
EDIT:

Leonid's file was fun - nice song, too. Chordstream might frustrate some newer players, but there's a set right at the beginning so it's easy for them to strive for improvement.
Silvuh's file was interesting; lots of hidden PR and some pretty fun patterns.
