Forget about FFR for a year or two. Then, download Stepmania. Make sure to start out playing one handed until one of your friends tells you otherwise. Once you've gotten up to the level of AAAing C-to-VC difficulty songs, come back to FFR. You should be able to just barely AAA Excite Bike with your new skills. Now keep playing FFR and in the months that follow you will work your way up to being able to AAA the same stuff on FFR that you were previously AAAing on SM.

That's what I did, so it's good advice, right ?_?

Play harder songs and then go back to excite bike later when you can full combo a 5-6.

The fact that you can hit the 32nd rolls in Air more often than not (as evidenced here) says that you have a fair amount of speed. However, improvement usually happens in a two-step cycle where one alternates between working on speed and accuracy, and AAAs are about the latter. The phenomenon of the mental block is also well-loathed by many a skilled player, wherein playing a certain level over and over (a practice known as "whoring a song") trying to obtain a desired result will actually interfere with one's chances of achieving that goal.

It helps if you understand the relation of the yellow notes to the red / blue ones. Just focus on reading the arrows, not on the audio.
