AMD is better than intel. Intel processors run way too hot. My AMD Phenom 9600 has a constant temp of 43 and it just has a stock heatsink and fan. My friend got the Intel i7 and he has had nothing but problems with it, mainly overheating.

Those other people probably have liquid cooling and have their intel CPUs OCd. And lets not forget that if you burn up an intel you are gonna pay 2x more than you would for any AMD.

You have some nice hardware. Windows 7 must be causing the lag because it shouldnt be anything else. Try disabling aero theme. Aside from that I can't really give any more advice. Maybe someone who uses Vista can help.

Try disabling aero theme.

I use the Aero Theme with transparency and ffr runs ok.


I have Vista 32 bit, ATI 4350 HD, Intel Celeron D 2.50GHZ with 1gb of some random cheap memory. What I did was close every process like you mentioned BUT I turned my web browser (firefox) into High or Realtime priority. Try that and see if it works out

The new version of keybeat (60fps, high quality) runs mendes with 50% cpu usage using the orbular noteskin (heaviest noteskin).
Also I have an AMD 2.2GHz.
Will try in on windows 7 some time in the future.
