I consider myself decent amongst the top tier players of ffr, I think that getting all Skill Tokens would make you a "good" player

You ARE good, i cant get past 1-2 goods on that song, mirror or not, other than that .. i can do well on FMO and FGO songs :/ By saying "well" I wont say im good, because as i've seen before .. The second you think your good is the second you stop trying, or something along those lines, so obviously you just practice and work on your Average rank, i'd assume .. lets see..150 and below Av rank makes a good player, either that or Tier Points, anyway /end word wall.

In real life, playing a really hard song makes you godly. (score doesn't matter, since people who don't play obviously have no idea what kinds of scores separate the best from the average on any given song)

Wrong. DS's quote may sound nice and give inspiration to less skill players and all that jazz but the fact is it's really not true at all.

I mean not to rail on DS or anything but if you're good and you stop challenging yourself to get better that's your own ****ing fault and it has nothing to do with whether or not you acknowledge yourself as a good player regardless of your actual skill level.

And by the same token top tier players can acknowledge that their top tier and still challenge themselves to higher levels of skill each day because at the end of it all you are your best opponent and when it comes right down to it realizing your own level of skill can be one of the most inspirational factors in improving.

Also the other side of it is nearly everyone at the high end still plays purely for fun which is how they got good in the first place so it's more like you stop improving once you get ****ing bored with the game just please stop idealizing skill deterioration and attributing it to ego boosting or whatever you people think is because it makes absolutely no goddamn sense and it's actually really kind of insulting.

Use drugs.

Or you can try and be content with being at your current level.
Its nearly impossible to catch up with the higher level players
unless you're a maniac on the keyboard, mashing arrows like
there's no tomorrow.

Its hard to accept, but I myself know there's no way I could ever hit
arrows at high speeds with such skill and tenacity.

I'm a casual kinda player, taking it slow and easy, so if I tried to move like those champs, I'd either pop a vein in my wrist or fall off the dance pad trying to keep up. But that's alright. I still love FFR and DDR, regardless of my
skill level.

Still, there's always room for improvement. After playing Stepmania awhile, I got a little better at FFR...well, not too much,
but it way a step up from the way I was before. Playing FFR songs over and over may help improve your skills.
But remember to have a good time. Pick your favorite song [or whatever song you may seem to like] and enjoy the game.
