In Stepmania I do zx 2(numpad) 3(numpad). But on FFR it doesn't support those numpad keys. I do play index sometimes though...

FFR supports any numpad key. I just tried it and it works fine. I use u, k, numpad5 and numpad9, there's no difference between the numbers. The only thing is that you have to have numlock on.

I found that my hands would get cramped in traditional spread so now I use [N M 2num 6num] and I put the keyboard at a tilt so the right side is closer to me. I've gone through many variations and this is the most comfortable.

lmao, dunno, just how I progressed over time. And i dont read the notes straight across either. I like cross read them. like instead of m(left) l(down) numpad 2(up) numpad 6(right), My L is up and my 2 is down. XD

I play spread, on the keys SD 56 (on numpad)

lol, im starting to make vids, but it is too dark in the corner where my com is, so you cant really see my hand placement. Ill try to fix that eventually and make more. lol.

you could try my odd style of spread. ML2(numpad)6(numpad).

That is how i progressed from the arrow keys. lol.

Songs with patterns that are giving you problems while playing spread are the ones you should play rather than avoid. Working on your weak points right off the bat helps greatly. Such as files with one handed trills, jumpstream, and speed files.

could you please explain jumpstream or speed fileS?


My main problem comes when you have a mix that does a lot of doubles mixed in with fast eights or 16ths

like your basic LDURLDURLDUR is fine but when it goes LD(LR)(UR)LD(LR)(UR) i cant do it

after a few days i thik im catching onto spread a bit better.

I fail to see why people are amazing by ml26, you just rotate your keyboard a bit and it's just like a "normal" spread setup >_>

Yeah. It's not really the key setup. At least, it wasn't for me... but it's a weird setup on the left hand anyway. Very awkward. And he gets good scores.

Some people played like that before spread was popular because it kept your hands out of the way of each other, argo played like that on the numpad and I remember a few people doing that on arrow keys. It'd be ridiculous to relearn playing like that but it's not really impressive if that's how you've always done it.

Yeah I didn't realize he said the up and down keys were switched, that makes it really awkward. Still all you have to do is play with it for a while and get used to it, just like when the first time any single person played spread it was awkward.

I use f, v, u, and k. Perhaps I should consider different configurations.
