Re: If there was a portable FFR console...

Theres many different keys used for them. But zageron hit it on the spot, haha we aren't talking about a console, what if they made their own little Keyboard with just those plugged into a USB port.

For example, it would be able to hit hands, where in my keyboard doesn't register more than 2 keys at a time, you could hold all down and etc.

And so no-one would cheat, as he said hit the keys your going to use, and the others are disabled, so multiple people cannot help you with jack songs, or etc.

But then again, that's a weird situation, cause wouldn't your keyboard be in place... idk don't mind this post unless it makes some sense xD

Yes it would need to have Anti Double setup.

      Seriously, look at this picture.

I don't really see the point in this.
Why would you want one? To play FFR "on the go"? Most places you go have a computer near by.

But yeah like I said earlier, I just don't see the point in a portable version of FFR. It would be better if they made it so you can play it on the iTouch or something.

Re: If there was a portable FFR console...

im not sure if you understand how complex it would be to create this system?

think about this, your keyboard, typical input for ffr?

how does one play game boy for example its held in ones hand, typically operated by thumbs...middle and index finger play limited, or no role at all.

to create a hand held system, which isn't actually hand held, would be fairly hard.

Re: If there was a portable FFR console...

Not everybody always has a computer nearby. Road trips, plane trips, waiting for bus, in class (less noticeable lol), in library (so you don't get kicked off the computers), etc. I could think of a few more but I'm not motivated to do so right now.

And then there's the part that it's so dang inconvenient to wait for your computer to turn on and waiting for it to turn off, and carry it around, assuming you've got a laptop. There are also people who don't own laptops and aren't inclined to buy one.

P.S. I didn't mean a hand-held system. For FFR that would be absurd. And I'm well aware of how complicated (and expensive) it would be to actually design it, enough to make it far from worth it for FFR to ever make one, but I didn't intend to go into that in this thread. I was just wondering how much people would pay for one.

we'll i almost just said the dumbest thing in the world, this is what my post was going to be:

"why not just make it like an arcade game kinda thing, and have the 4 buttons and speakers and stuff"

cept i probably wouldn't have said it exactly like that, but i almost wrote it

The whole concept of a portable FFR "console" is simply ridiculous. Try a portable version of FFR for an already produced handheld.

                              Thread over.

But seriously, the logistics of it would be crazy. You said it would update automatically with new songs? How would you manage that? The only way I can see would be with Wi-Fi, and, odds are, if you arent near a computer, you arent going to be able to access Wi-Fi, at least not without going out of your way to do so. I could see maybe syncing it like an iPod, but that doesnt do any good now considering both subscriber AND public song releases are rather erractic. You wouldnt know when to update and when not too.

                              Good idea, bad execution.
