        You have completely missed the point twice now. News posts are the biggest form of publicity a song author gets on FFR, and publicity is the ONLY reason an artist would agree to put their songs on FFR.

        And I'm sure over 70% of registered users haven't even heard of the Song of the Week or have any idea what it is.

            They probably haven't for every single song because the news would change far too fast to be noticed enough, but they could always just edit the latest news post to include the SotW ... =\
