alright ill look up that tournament set - up and if its a model that we like, we can use it and do the tournament
well i cannot find it, but we have a set up for the tournament and its progression.
(it was last implemented when we held a racing tournament on the game NFSU2 holding 38 people)
this system works with a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of however much dedication my team has of scoring and calculating.
the scores will be determined using the final score on FFR. there will be different levels of difficulty and the songs for each will be chosen very carefully.
Beginner
Novice
Intermediate
Experienced
Master
GOD (for those people who are so good that no one can keep up)
for each division it will be a progression tournament. if you beat one guy you face the winner of the other round etc til one is left standing. there will be a B side. if you lose the first time you get placed on the B side and you can fight your way up. A vs B is the final round.
I wanna make team itmorr and represent myself to participate in the team tourny. Would that be okay or do I need to temporarily join something like TK to play?
Edit--Also, just curious, can the PMS be considered a team since they all tag up and work towards a similar motive?
IMO it is just one more way for people to attempt to seperate one group from another. the cool from the uncool. the jocks from the nerds. this clique versus that clique. and it is pretty damn stupid, considering it isn't a team game. every person is for themselves.
AND... all those are negatives... there are no positives. but the biggest negative is people like Shash (although he isn't alone, far from it), who have created multiple usernames and have gotten top scores with them. I know Shash has 3 of the top15 scores on some songs, with 3 different usernames. Frankly, that is ridiculous... and completely skews the ranking system for those of us who are very good, but not amazing. All of my consistent 40-70th place ranks could easily be 10 spots higher if not for the multiple account abuse.
So, yea. Teams, in general, have absolutely zero positives to them.
QFT. Why have teams if its not even a team based game? It is revolved around 1v1s. It would be cool to have teams if somehow your teammates affected your score, or something.
