Any person who's been on FFR for 4 years and can't even get 16 creds on MF is terrible. I just played it (haven't played a game in like... about a week maybe), and scored 24 creds.

Difficulty is generally a matter of opinion. If you're a very good player, difficult songs seem easy. If you're not, then easy songs can seem hard, and difficult songs seem impossible. I'm not very good at the game, so what's easy to some of you is hard to me. I tried Max Forever out of curiosity just now and did horribly. I seemed to have trouble getting the rhythm right because the arrows didn't seem to be matching the beats of the music. They probably are, but the speed may be too much for me right now, and maybe that's more of the problem for me. *shrug* Oddly enough, the rank I got is apparently higher than I have on some songs with a much lower difficulty rating. Still, 1% of the record holder's score is miserable, so I don't think I'll be playing this song again soon. IMO, yes, it's difficult, but I'm not as good of a player as some of you, so that's to be expected.

There's a gap between sig scores and song scores. Song scores are generally a little more effective because they base your rank against others, while sig scores just tally up your total points and pop out a number.

I didn't say it was off-sync. I said that I had trouble matching the arrows with the beats I was hearing. I think a lot of it, besides speed and unfamiliarity with the song, is because red arrows are 1/8 notes and not 1/4 notes like in StepMania. My old computer go so bad that it couldn't handle FFR, so I got used to playing StepMania instead. Reversing the blue and red colors between the two games is causing me some trouble in other songs here, too. This is just my problem, but it will take some time to re-adjust.

AasumDude, I was talking about the song score and ranking in my previous post, which FWIW were 38210 points and rank 3854. I know sig scores are just grand totals of everything you've done.

You're both right. The stepfile isn't off-beat, but dronak was right in saying that the red arrows in the trills are covering 1/8 notes rather than the 1/4 notes they should have.

Red notes are quarter notes in both FFR and SM, and are no different in Max Forever. Max Forever is just 300 BPM and has nothing but 8ths, although they feel like 16ths, but it'd be the same in SM.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Maybe you're just somehow getting a whole eight beat off on the trills somehow?

I wouldn't give 300 BPM a "just", but anyway, I'm pretty sure I wasn't counting the music that fast. That was probably part of my problem as well. Maybe the arrows do match and because I was expecting a different speed, I was confused. *shrug* New songs always give me some trouble until I hear them and see some steps, enough to know what to expect.

I thought the blue and red colors in all songs here that use colors were the reverse of StepMania, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm just starting to play here again after a long time away, and most of the songs I have played only use blue arrows. That could have made me think that blue is the default 1/4 note here when it isn't. I'm not sure.
