The only possible aboslute concrete proof of the issue would be to have a video on the comp, start up Stepmania, go to options and set the difficulty level and life bar level to 4 to prove that's what they're at, and then do the song normally on double 1.5.

I would also be convinced by a sound file. The speed of the song on 1.5x is what makes it nonbelievable. You can get a logitech mic for like 10-15 bucks. What I do to hold it while playing is just hold it with my teeth next to the keys. When you snap it off the holder it's about as big as a pencil.
