Either play songs that you are comfortable with on higher rates or just play a lot of songs that are just a bit too hard for you. I'd stay away from FFRmania since most of the songs on that engine are quite a bit harder than you'd probably feel comfortable with.

Or he could get ffrmania and play it on R3. Just reduce the rate of most of those songs are you're fine.
