with him to every Nekocon, and he has tournaments with them? For actual money? Yah, I'll be at Nekocon. XD

I dunno, but he's not really into anime type stuff as much as I am. He'll probably be like hanging around the video game type stuff, but uhm.. that's really cool. I'll definitely go if your friend holds a DDR Tournament.

Imo, I would pwn at Standard. Kept AA'ing on Standard today.. kinda sucked though, it was like 6 greats. But then again.. our machine is old, beat up, used, broken arrows, freezes a lot, etc.

Nyokou your brother will love the Video Game Room. It has actual arcade machines to play and everything.

For the tournaments, you better keep practicing. People from all over the country come to this thing and I've seen some pretty badass DDR and ITG players.

We just recently got a DDR machine about 6 months ago, and I've gone about once or twice every week to practice, so, I don't know. But, because of the condition of our pads and stuff, I'd say I'm better than what my scores say. =/ I can't wait. x3

What the hell is LAARPing?

It's when you dress as a character from an anime and pretty much play a giant board game of D&D using the actual people as game pieces. It's gets pretty crazy when two characters meet and have to fight it out. You also have to stay in character the entire time. It's an otaku's dream game.

My friends and I dont do this, but we meet in our towns forest preserve every month and we spar ^^ we have this nice little bridge going over a large stream on which we fight on, and on cold days (yes we even do this during the winter, and in the snow!!) falling into the water is not somone's idea of a fun day at the park either it's happened to me before

It would be awesome if FFR went to Nekocon. Good luck convincing Synth to come all the way over here to VA.
Maybe they could come to AMA also on June 15-17 at the Richmond Convention Center. Either one is fine with me, cuz I'm going to both either way.

Looks like the vendors are cheaper over at Anime Mid-Atlantic.. but I'm guessing it's because that con is more popular? I really wouldn't know..

Well, it would be cool if I could go to Nekocon, but the chance that I will isn't great. One of my friends wants me to go to Otakon, too, but the only convention I've gone to is Katsucon.

What was the point of that? Yes, there are alot of conventions going on in Texas. You have your own post in the ideas thread. Don't come into mine and think that posting a list is going to better your chance of an anime convention in Texas over Virginia. You should be thanking God I didn't make a thread for Otakon because Otakon > any convention in Texas automatically.

Anyone in Virginia has heard of it since it's one of the biggest on the East Coast.

Wha, really? I've never been to Nekocon, but I always thought it was on the smaller side, like Anime USA.

Katsucon has gotta be the biggest in VA*, and Otakon obviously the biggest in the "general area" (I lived in Northern VA, so Baltimore isn't a bad drive at all).

I've only been to Katsu, Ota, and Anime USA, but I've been to each one numerous times.

I plan to go to Anime Expo at some point, possibly 2008. It's so far, but I have some really good friends out there that I need to meet.

Anyway, point is I guess I could go to this, if I can convince a couple friends to go with me... but it's so close time-wise to Anime USA, which is my personal home con (I've gone every year but one since their 2nd meet), so Nekocon was always a no-go to me.

*Edit: I just remembered they moved Katsucon to DC, so it's not technically VA anymore, but screw that. XD I've always thought of it as a VA con.

anyways, yes! i went to nekocon like 2 or 3 years ago. it is big. i am not a big fan of anime, but i went with a friend who likes that stuff. i mainly stayed in the game room and played DDR.

and yeah chromer, are you talking about derek? i know he always brings his pads and pop'n'music stuff. there are always good ddr/itg players there. i love it.


also if we can get like an FFR section or something, that would be so sweet.

i wasn't planning on going this year, but now i will. chromer you need to get on AIM more often so i can talk to j00.
