Former vibro fgt chiming in, passes are kinda cool if they're around the 1.0 range. Posting messy C's on 1.3+ looks pretty silly and is more a display in timing window luck + many attempts rather than skill.

Good vibro scores (lel oxymoronic) are scores that demonstrate the player's control of that movement rather than showcasing their ability to spam. Again exceptions to this are 1.0 rates on shit like divorce which also involve a fair amount of consistency in addition to freak speed.

It doesn’t matter which one is harder. They’re all legitimate scores - you play song, and you shall receive score.

It all boils down to a subjective matter of what people find impressive or skilled, especially if it's in a topic as large as stepmania.

Look at it this way, if there's a baseball pitcher who's heralded as one of the best pitchers of all time, but he can't catch or hit or steal for the life of him, is he objectively an impressive baseball player? That's entirely up to interpretation. It's as dumb to say he's rubbish at baseball as it is to say he's phenomenal when based entirely off one subset. Sure, nobody can deny that he's great at pitching, but that doesn't mean people have to consider being a good pitcher impressive; some people think batting is the true skill test of the game, and some consider a well-rounded player who can field, throw, and bat impressive.

Just like here: not everyone will consider the same things impressive, and that's okay, especially in a context like this where the common metric is AA and not passing. Just like how some itg players don't consider crossover heavy charts a terribly impressive feat to pass, just like how some sports players don't find playing golf well to mean you're good at sports, just like how some doctors don't consider lawyers to be as smart.

They're entitled to believe that and they have their own reasons to, but it's also a two way street and both parties are pretty dumb typically with how matters are handled when their egos are on the line

edit: at the end of the day, i highly doubt the intent with posting scores is like "omgg im so much better than you all at vibro, look at these passes, none of you could ever do these!!" like who cares, he has goals and stuff that hes worked on and hes accomplished them, even if someone isnt impressed, its like lol who cares
