Angel's Salad (Deamerai) [6/10]

PERMS OK
SYNC OK

0.591-2.236: I know it's a bit of a pain, but why not recolorize those? It's a bit ugly as skittles. Subjective though.

5.993-11.417: In this whole range, the column 1 motif is wrongly charted. It's not a constant 3/16ths gap, for example at 11.247 it's an 8th gap, and same at 5.824.

15.400: Missing note.

17.349: Left hand is a bit heavy. (34) would be nice here.

21.417: Again left hand, why not a (34) here too?

24.807: (13) for PR.

24.129 & 1:45.824: Ouch...

25.315-25.800: Again left hand, 121 32nds and 122 24ths so close.

27.010-27.688: Left hand... the balance has to be fixed.

34.892-35.825: Left hand.

1:09.496: These 12ths feel a bit odd and underwhelming.

1:14.976: (34) would be smoother.

1:21.756: Bit rude one handed minitrill there.

1:46.756: PR, not the same as the previous 16th hand.

1:50.061: Would suggest (12)(12)(34) (34) (34) (13) from here.

2:16.671: Missing note.

2:25.570: Missing note.

2:27.858: This should probably be the same jump as the 12th before it, regardless of if it's (34)(34) or another change like (24)(24)(13).

2:31.982: The burst starts here.

2:36.925: Missing note.

2:39.044: Why minijack? Col 4 would improve PR.

2:45.061: PR, not the same as 2:44.892.

2:45.400: 12th, not 16th.

2:47.858: Not 24ths jumps, just 16ths jumps and maybe singles 24ths poly if you want.

3:00.400: Why (14)1(34)(12) here? Should either be all jumps or all singles.

3:19.892-end: Why not chart all the guitar/synth? Notes like 3:20.103, 3:20.273, 3:21.417, etc feel missing.

3:29.383: Would chart those too with the same logic as mentioned for 3:19.892.

Didn't go too indepth on the slowed down playthrough, but do ensure things are consistent; I may have missed more minor stuff.

Such a chaotic song and chart. For the most part it's pretty clean and has interesting patterns throughout. There's definitely a problematic left hand bias however that has to be addressed first; most of it is in the first half. So the reject is for the intro errors and for the first half bias correction, plus the decent amount of minor mistakes and inconsistencies throughout the rest. Wouldn't hurt to apply some friendliness here and there according to the notes because many parts feel unnecessarily abrasive relative to other chaotic song bits. It's a nice tech/stam challenge, and we need those high end ones so I highly suggest resubmitting to a batch after a big cleanup.

Note that in this bounty batch, it may take a bit before a second judge looks at the file. Please be patient. Thanks!

Angel's Salad ("Le mythe étendu" ver.) (Deamerai)

- Offset's good.

This file has been sitting in the back of my mind for around 2 months, and I'm super conflicted on what to give the rating for this.

I'm more of a playability-kind of player in terms of very hard 100+ stuff, so my notes are mostly less focused on technical accuracy-aspect of the chart but moreso playability and how the general top players will react with their own receptions.

17.264 - It might be worthwhile to use a different jump, the [13][12][24] looks rather ugly and a little bit too straining to play.
*21.502 - This and many other instances of column 2 anchors - this is more pressing for a change. Sure it's technically correct, but having littered with this are not very fun to control through.
24.129 - This is too rough to my taste, it might be better to do [34][12] or something. You can keep the 24th minijack on 24.242 though.
1:45.824 - Same as 24.129.
1:50.118 - Might be too much of a booflag trap? Not sure. I think I consistently screw myself over on this without hitting a booflag.
2:34.976 - The right hand anchor is quite the trap - this might look simple to some people, but the column 3 anchor on the preceding note isn't the greatest of decisions, personally.
3:19.982 - I'd just end the chart here - last few notes wouldn't be all that necessary.

Mechanically, this chart works - occasionally to a fault at some degree. The patterns are very rough yes, but they don't feel like everything is going to screw up your runs (aside from the notes above), it's raw technicality and maybe some transitioning in and out of patterns are definitely needed here.

The inconsistencies, I feel, are deliberate since the song runs in to you at full force on most segments, which definitely works for this chart. I think this review might be one of my confusing reviews up to date - because even though I feel there's not that many to point out, but anything that feels nitpicky with patterning decisions on my end is one of the main reasons that I can't point it out because it's just how you chart this - deliberate, but fits through and through.

With some cleanup here and there on the palatability and minor stuff from Op's review, this would be quite nice for a challenging 110 or something. [7/10]

Rating appeal accepted. It is indeed possible to fix the mentioned issues without changing the general feel of the chart. Will have to review the changes.

Oppie:

0.591-2.236 - Don't see a whole point in doing this

5.993-11.417 - Fixed

15.400 - Sure

17.349 - Sure

21.417 - Sure

24.807 - Good point

25.315-25.800 - Don't understand this one, it's fine

27.010-27.688 - This one is intentional, not changing

34.892-35.825 - Changed to slightly fit more PR

1:09.496 - Buffed this section

1:14.976 - No it won't. You're just changing the middle column bias to the right hand. It would be a lot more annoying to hit that with the hand combined at the end.

1:21.756 - I guess? Moved the first 32nd to 3 to make it rolly

1:46.756 - Yes it is. I'm not following whatever you're hearing on the right ear

2:25.570 - This is not a missing note

2:27.858 - Changed

2:36.925 - Added

2:39.044 - I think this was to add some challengeness to that segment, so I made an intentional minijack, still follows PR but changed anyway

2:45.061 - It follows the kick, but sure

3:00.400 - It would create a massive spike there, and it is also consistent with 2:38.705

Mipha:

17.264 - Addressed in Oppie's notes

21.502 - Also changed this, recheck

24.129, 1:45.824 etc - Honestly... I personally think they're fine. I've made a lot of optimization for them to be pretty friendly hit at that skill level. For the first timestamp there's good isolation to get prepared for hitting that minijack. The 2nd timestamp has a balanced hand bias in order to be able to hit that pattern smoothly. [Edit: Changed them in the next upload]

1:50.118 - Addressed in Oppie's notes

2:34.976 - Hmm sure, moved the single 16th to column 2

Thank you for giving a second round for this file and thanks for the notes.

A new chart file was uploaded with the following changes:

Hand Bias changed: -7 => -3

A new chart file was uploaded with the following changes:

Hand Bias changed: -3 => -1

Solid changes, the general flow of the chart was improved quite a bit and should make for a fair and challenging tech chart at the higher difficulties. Good job.
