Cobra Commander v2 (ositzxz369) [6.5/10]
- Perms, metadata, sync are good
26.149 - Ghost note
46:395-52.824, etc - What's the motif with the 16ths here? Some notes are ghosted if it goes to the instruments
57.109-57.824 - Not straight 24ths, they go off-sync. Double check
58.248 - What does this go to?
59.587 - 12th not 16th
**1:00.324-1:14.051 - Spikiest section in the file by far. This is where the primary source of difficulty stems from, and it is borderline nearing unranked status. It makes sense with the file, but it's not justifable enough to have in-game
1:38.694 - Missing note
1:46.194 - ^
^ This happens more during this part, double check
*2:42.645-2:43.181, etc - Ehhhhhhhhh, really ambivalent about this. While not impossible to do it's a bit too over the top
3:04.542, 3:04.743 - Ghost notes
3:13.382 - ^ subtle
3:45.926, 3:46.127, etc - There are notes there
Neat file overall. Generally it makes sense, but the difficulty curve is slightly inconsistent due to the huge jack section at the first half, which needs to be mitigated before it can go in. Furthermore, the Skill Token requirement for this is beyond unreasonable, especially with the controversy this song has gotten from players before. You know very well what you were doing when you requsted for this requirement, and this rating deflects this intention/behavior.

Cobra Commander v2 (ositzxz369) [7.5/10] -FR-
PERMS OK
SYNC OK
NOTE: FR also applies to the suggested token requirement. While it might have comedic value to very few people, chances are that would not be enjoyable for most players.
15.390: This is a bit awkward to play because of the fast 21. No big deal but consider 3(12)41 instead of 2(13)42.
24.765: This triplet flam should start on the 24th at 24.743 instead.
26.970: Weird abstraction PR here. This specific note moved to col 4 would make more sense.
41.373: A jump here would make sense for the kick. Could change the 4th to (12) and make this (34).
52.913: Incorrect quantization here. The actual sounds are indeed 12ths but starting from the 8th at 52.957 until 53.225.
1:03.538 [FR]: This is too difficult patterning in what is already one of the most challenging parts of the chart. It's not terribly unfriendly, but I would highly suggest something like 43 43 43 flams into 12341234 roll and adapting the following jacks' PR, or something along those lines.
1:15.123: Would recommend changing this jump to (14), which would keep the minijack for the layering, and still remain representative on the left hand without causing the awkward 2212 motion to end this long difficult section.
2:42.645: Lmao. You're pushing it. It's a bit borderline but I suppose it's fine as is given the rest of the chart.
Interesting V2; definitely has its own spot relative to V1. The chart is overall pretty intuitive and offers a somewhat unique challenge. However despite the high intensity throughout, there are still some notable spikes which in a tech chart of this length aren't ideal. Fun motifs here and there despite the chaotic song. FR on that jack transition bit given that the chart is already likely to be quite divisive so that one is a bit much.

For Deam~
26.149 - Not a ghost note. It’s going to the church bell noise
46.395-52.824, etc - The zigzagging 16ths are according to the length of the scream sample
57.109-57.824 - Fixed, recheck
58.248 - Was supposed to be for the vocal “Them”. Should be sync’d now since I moved it to 58.281
59.587 - Fixed, recheck
**1:00.324-1:14.051 - K, nerfed to 4-note 3/32nd jacks. Recheck
1:38.694/1:46.194/etc - Added, recheck
*2:42.645-2:43.181/2:57.645-2:58.181 - Both u and OP say it’s doable. So either it’s fine, or both of u have a better pattern to suggest, maybe?
3:04.542/3:04.743/3:13.382 - Removed, recheck
3:45.926/3:46.127/etc - If you consider these spots as missing notes, then there’d be a lot more “missing notes” all the way to the start. If you slow this section down at 40% speed (it blurs to one noise at 50%), then yes there are more notes. But I decided to omit them b/c the initial loud crunchy noise overpowers them
For OP~
15.390: Fixed, recheck
24.765: Fixed, recheck
26.970: Why column 4? This whole spot is a fade-in for the syllable “Co-”, hence the ascending PR
41.373: Why jump? There’s no percussion, just hi-hat. Compare 41.172
52.913: Not sure what u want me to do for 52.957-53.225, but if the issue here is the sync on the two 12ths, then I moved it from 52.913-53.002 into 52.935-53.024
1:03.538 [FR]: How about I nerf this part by breaking the [4] anchor?
1:15.123: Changing this jump to [14] is technically wrong given that there’s no PR in the melody to warrant it. However, if the 2212 motion is really an issue, then I’m considering just nerfing it from [24][24] to [14][23]. I’d like Deam’s thoughts on the 2212 motion
2:42.645: See comment on Deam’s side
Also, for both judges, please recheck 4:19.074-4:20.011

For OP~
1:00.324-1:15.324 - Thoughts on this version of the jack section? I’m trying to stick to the Snake motif by linking the jack-to-jack transitions (1111234444; where the 23 is the link). But if that 23 is considered to cause heavy tensing on your hands, then I can change it to 32. Also, I might consider making the jacks go more on the index fingers (or just evenly split for all 4 fingers) if the current majority of jacks being on 1 and 4 - is too hard

Really solid changes to the jack section. This is a lot more fun and engaging to play. Awesome work on this!
In terms of playability this is good to go. However FR still remains due to the unreasonable token unlock requirement.
You can either try and suggest other requirements with me, or consult the GMs for a resolution.

New skill token requirement: Pass Cobra Commander v1 2 times in a row. The stepartist wants to add a silly message to include in the token unlock before the file is released.
New unlock requirement seems reasonable enough to me (ear skill issue workout). This is now up to the GMs / maybe Head judges to decide if they like it or not.

that's fine I guess, just DM Dossar, since they will likely be in-charge at the time, as long as unlock message doesn't contain any profanity or stuff like that.
Moving to DC Engine.
