Ruby My Dear is pretty cool.

Dumpy tech file, lots of pretty colors and streams. Tried to make a file thats as visually appealing as it is fun to play and I believe I've succeeded.

Drummer is the only reason this file is PR'd whatsoever.

Collab with Basicdrummerman. again.

- The sim folder name isn't as expected: "SHA (Lights & BDM)" vs "SHA (Lights)"

SHA (Lights & BDM) [7/10] -FR-

PERMS OK
SYNC NOT OK (Off by roughly one 64th/22ms, judging this with an offset of -0.071)

16.375: Maybe (13) here would alleviate col 2 a bit.

18.657: Unclear why these 32nds are here and not at 18.494 where the sound peaks.

20.940 & 21.429: These two should probably be (14) or something different than the (13)s.

22.571: Fun motif these one-sided white notes to this "scratchy" sound.

23.875: Consider making this a single to help represent the rising 8ths' start.

27.788: PR here isn't ideal, these consecutive 8th jumps dont really match the 16th at 27.543.

28.766-29.337: This abstraction feels quite random.

30.668: Fine as is but could really do without this note for a better transition.

35.025: Could use another 64th colored note here as this one also slides.

38.664 & 38.759: Highly suggest removing these two. They feel much too continuous for what is basically a dead stop in the song.

53.087 & 53.141: Can also remove those. If not both, at the very least the latter.

1:01.701 & 1:03.005: Could be argued that these subtle hihats aren't necessary in this already dense section with lots of minijacks.

1:02.027-1:02.679: This part is really straining. Right hand essentially has two 3-notes 16ths jacks, and left hand has (12)211. Surely this can be made friendlier just by shuffling the patterns.

1:03.250: PR, this note is lower than 1:03.087.

1:05.369 & 1:05.614 & 1:05.859 & 1:06.103: Similarly to the concern at 1:01.701, these really amp up the difficulty for just very subtle sounds. The 4th and 8th at 1:05.614 & 1:05.859 can be argued given that there's the audible piano, but even then it feels muddy to layer that when the playing focus is definitely on the minijacks and the sound they go to.

1:07.734: Bit early, should be on 1:07.774.

1:08.467: Here this hihat could be added since nothing else is the main focus.

1:09.853-1:10.505: This abstraction is too much. Not every sound needs notes. Similar issue than 38.664 but this time it's just a full stop with very small oscilations; just keep this empty.

1:15.071: Don't need these 24ths. More subjective but still spiky for what it is.

1:32.190: (23) for PR.

1:32.924: There should be a 16th here to bounce with 1:33.087. The 24ths don't make sense and the 4th shouldnt minijack with the following 16th.

1:33.494: Bit rude to have this on col 2, left hand does 221 2211 from 1:33.168. Could put these on col 3.

1:33.821: This is another prime example of an abstraction not helping the representation. Sure as an isolated sound it works, but here the jump at 1:33.984 is so impactful in the song and this abstraction simply drowns it in a continous stream. By fixing the prior minijacks with lets say 33112 and removing the green notes, the jump and 24ths gain so much impact.

2:15.723: Wow brave layering decision these slow poly jacks. Seems to work nicely somehow.

Interesting chart with some neat ideas. While there's a lot of things to fix and polish, there's not really anything egregious. An FR is due for the sync and a decent cleanup at the very least.

SHA (Lights) [7.5/10, CQ/FR*]
>Perms, metadata, sync good
>Slightly offsync on the current -0.049 offset. All notes will be on -0.070

16.455 - Ghost note
17.026-17.352 - Two diff noise on the jumps, but same jump pattern?
18.385/18.439 - Suggest removing these two 24ths and replacing them w/ a 16th on 18.412. The screeching 24ths starts on 18.493 anyways
18.656-18.779 - Why 32nds here instead of the usual 24ths? No pitch change. Compare 1:18.330-1:18.983
20.939-21.591 - Can do PR on the jumps for the background piano
22.243-22.325 - Can do minijack noise
23.711-23.874 - Suggest changing to singles. The acid synth is the main jump sound here
25.433-26.086 - Why white notes?
26.483-26.646 - The 32nds can be justified here b/c of the higher pitched screech
27.542-27.950 - Two diff noise on the jumps, but same jump pattern?
28.887 - Ghost note
30.966/31.211 - Can do jump
32.678-32.760 - Can do minijack noise
36.917 - Should be single. Compare 41.483
38.303 - Missing note
42.135-42.461 - No wubdumping?
47.352 - Why jump?
56.238-56.646 - Two diff noise on the jumps, but same jump pattern?
58.113 - This doesn’t have that white note noise
1:03.249 - Should be on 3. It has the same pitch as 1:02.841-1:02.923
1:03.983-1:04.363 - The white notes are slightly offsync
1:08.222 - Why jump?
1:09.852-1:10.504 - I don’t think this deserves a wubdump. No buzz noise, plus it might conflict w/ the white notes of 1:10.504-1:11.156
1:16.211-1:16.292 - This should be the minijack, not 1:16.048-1:16.129
1:18.385-1:18.439 - See note on 18.385/18.439
1:27.135/1:28.439 - Why jump? No hard noise like the other jumps within this white note stream
1:31.048/1:31.211/1:31.700/1:31.863/1:32.189/1:32.352/2:21.754 - Why jump?

hi, i addressed the majority of notes from you two (and fixed the sync, fuggin whoopsie daisy on that one. shoulda checked the sync didnt break before slapping it into batch).

--------------------

notes i wanted to particularly respond to:

Oppiie
1:09.853-1:10.505 & 38.664: Y'know gold warned me this bit would get picked on. the tl;dr is that this is meant to hold tension through these bits of the song. they're some of the least intense elements of abstraction in the file. In such an overtly abstract file to begin with, I believe there should be allowance for such a creative liberty.

1:33.494: yeah, i originally had what youre suggesting- however the pitch of these notes goes so low that it feels appropriate to emphasize that given they're more isolated than most of the other minijacks in this section. this exact concession was made when theres layering and transitioning at play, I omitted the 64ths following them as per your next note to let the pattern remain even more isolated. while its not super comfy, i believe it can stay as is.

2:15.723: listen, I thought for sure this part of the file would get roasted to oblivion by playtesters but surprisingly people have been pretty okay with it.

--------------------

ositz:

16.455: but its not ?-?

17.026-17.352: i hear you, but im not sure how else to keep the minijacks off the same hand as the jump

18.656-18.779: i fixed this as per oppiies note to actually include more 32nds- this is to emphasize the peak of the sound.

22.243-22.325: great idea c:

25.433-26.086: riser

42.135-42.461: im ngl to you ositz, i didnt even really hear this until you pointed it out just now- gave it the same grey note 16th treatment i used in other areas of the file.

1:09.852-1:10.504: its not a wubdump to begin with. addressed above in oppiie's note

1:18.385-1:18.439: audio doesnt peak nearly as high, so no 32nds
