"8-bit" song from Nick Perrin! I stepped this in 2010. The song itself is good... Man, Nick Perrin makes too much good stuff. He's incredible.

----------
- Permission, metadata good.
** Sync is not good: change offset -0.034 -> -0.068 and bpm 139.973 -> 140.000. Timestamps given with these changes made.

6.068, 14.961, 18.390 etc: The trilly/anchory sections here are a pretty incongruous with the rest of the section PR-wise. Not much reason for these to be differentiated so much.
34.354-35.640: What exactly are jumps being used for here? They seem very inconsistently applied.
45.568: Misplaced jump, should be at 45.640 with a single here.
46.340-48.211: This is pretty wild on the right hand, and it has absolutely no reason to be--this goes to a lot of different instruments at a variety of different pitches. Check for similar cases of this as well--there are several.
51.068-53.211: What happened to your use of jumps for the chip melody here?
55.784-56.640: PR could use some refining here, this is quite trilly for such a clearly ascending sound pattern.
59.354-60.068: These minijacks are not PR-accurate. It's okay to leave one column anchored in each set due to the repeated percussion, but there's also an ascending melody here and so the jumps should be generally ascending.
71.854: Suggest repatterning things here so the 24th burst does not run into the 12th jack and create a longer-than-necessary 12th anchor.
** 73.783, 77.140, etc: These 24th OHTs are *wildly* spiky and need a nerf before this file can be accepted.

- The file has a fair bit of copy-paste in it, so a lot of these issues apply to the corresponding sections later in the chart as well. Make sure to account for this.

123.354: This 24th burst collides very awkwardly with the 12ths after it. A 3-note 12th jack makes no musical sense here.
124.925: See above, but even more awkward.
147.925: This split jumpjack patterning feels pretty excessive, particularly given the transition out of it and the right-hand bias surrounding.
** The 48th flams and 12th anchors in the section beginning at 161.211 are also ridiculously spiky and need significant nerfing before this file can be accepted.

- This song is quite nice, but the chart needs a lot more care put towards its difficulty curve, as well as some layering and PR consistency work, before I'd be comfortable accepting it. [5/10]

>Perms & metadata good
>Initial offset is too early, set it to -0.056. Then set the BPM on 1:13.355 to 145.970. Then set the BPM on 1:13.766 to 139.970. Notes below will be based on this new sync

0.056-27.489 - Could maybe buff this part up with jumps on percussion
15.273/19.988 - Should be [2] for better PR
23.417 - Should be [3] for better PR
34.919-35.634 - Where’s the rest of the 24th jumps?
45.564 - If the jump is for the laser noise, then the jump should be on 45.707
51.208 - If the jumps are for the prominent chiptune melody of this section, then this jump should be on 51.351
58.210 - Missing jump. ChiptuneMelody
59.210-59.924 - Could use some PR on the jumps here
*1:02.639-1:03.211/1:09.498-1:10.212 - What are the jumps going to?
1:31.841 - See comment on 45.564
1:37.628 - See comment on 51.208
1:44.487 - See comment on 58.210

2:02.347 - Missing jump. ChiptuneMelody
2:06.062/2:06.491 - Fix PR
2:09.206 - Missing jump. Chiptune Melody
2:20.637-2:25.780 - Interesting choice to layer the jumps on the ongoing background hum
2:30.639/2:31.496/2:32.353/2:37.497/2:38.354/2:39.212 - Could be jump
2:41.212-2:47.642 - Spiky section here. Awkward transition on 2:41.248; I suggest changing this triplet pattern to 421 (and I assume the other triplets would have their PR updated accordingly if this change were to be implemented). Same logic goes for 2:47.249. Still not sure why 2:41.784-2:41.926/etc has an anchor on [4] given that it’s not technically correct PR-wise
3:00.644/3:00.787 - Could be jump

>>Mostly straightforward & consistent. Fix sync. See asterisks

Since there is a 2+ point disparity between judges' ratings with one above the accept barrier and one below, this file is getting another opinion from a third judge. Hang tight.

Sync is definitely a noticeable issue with this chart. The song definitely has some amount of drift to it, so perfect sync is difficult to achieve. I think Pizza's sync suggestion is the simpler and slightly more accurate suggestion, but it's definitely worth playing around with it to see how close you want to get it.

Chart is very noticeably from a bygone era. It made me feel nostalgic playtesting it, but the OHTs stand out and need to be nerfed. Layering consistency also seems to be a major issue.

Fixing this chart up will require some structural work and a lot of secondary judgement effort to the point that it would likely require a new review. Too much for an FR flag, so unfortunately have to reject it.

S'all good friends. :) Thanks for the great reviews. You're amazing.
