Altale (jh05013) [7.5/10]

- Perms, metadata, sync are good

0:30.695 - This note does not feel like it should be on [2]. The tone of the flute here and on 0:31.695 aren't the same and the minijack it creates feels out of place. Would suggest moving to [1].

0:40.695, 0:56,695 - Use a jump here to differentiate the section prior to the new one.

0:41.695-0:45.695 - The gap here feels too empty and unengaging. I would suggest adding a ghost note on 0:44.695 to create only three short 8th gaps in 0:40.695-0:56.695

1:03.695 - Missing [1] note?

1:04.694-1:10.695 - This sounds like the perfect opportunity to place jumps for more practice variety (minus 1:09.695). But considering you're aiming for the very low difficulty range, it makes sense why you won't do it.

1:12.695 - Jump?

1:34.695 - Same as note 0:40.695 & 0:56,695 but arguably more subjective

1:41.695 - Missing note

This is a cute beginner file, just need some small touch-ups to make it a little bit more engaging and it's good to go.

- I feel 90bpm is inaccurate to the song. Turn on the metronome and you can feel how off it sounds. 60bpm would feel more accurate to me, with a 4th on every downbeat, though it would be less colorful. Amusingly 30bpm would give identical note colors. 0:16.695-0:24.695 is the only place 90bpm feels accurate

- 0:03.695 I understand you're trying to match the intensity with the music, But it really feels like there should be a note here. The lack of it makes the notes feel more arbitrary and less connected to the song. At 0:10.695 clock ticks join in further emphasizing the note. The downbeat is very important in this song so to not even chart it makes the chart seem needlessly undercharted.

- 1:44.695 These notes are 2x as fast as anything else in the chart. not saying its unwarranted but it puts into perspective how undercharted the rest of the song can feel.

I'm gunna be honest, we already have 2 other versions on this song in game. While generally well charted, i think some quality is lost in order to reach the goal of a 1 difficulty chart. If this were closer to 10 difficulty, i think it could meet that goal of being a chart for newer players, while also being able to more accurately represent the music. Whats currently here, however, I dont feel is quite enough to justify having a THIRD chart of this song in game and i dont think the goal of having a 1 diff chart of control is a good enough reason, especially when control is currently a 2.

Thanks for the notes. Additional question: does this play like a difficulty 1 chart? If not, would it be better to cut the second half or just tone the chart down in general?

To clarify the bit about Control: I heard Control is 2 just because it's not an ideal song to be the very first chart in the list, so I figured that if there is something before it, maybe it can go back to where it belongs.

The chart is already extremely watered down that I find it completely unnecessary to tone it down even more. I could see this being a 1 since there's a lot of waiting time between majority of the notes. The second half with the 16th trills could possibly bump it up to 2, but I highly doubt it. It's kinda up there with Trip to The Moon.

Control was initially released as a 1 and was later bumped to 2 solely because the song was deemed troublesome to introduce to new players at this range. Even if this file is released, I think there needs to be a lot more content in the 1-3 range before someone can consider moving it back to 1.

While I was looking at the file again, another note I want to suggest is you should cut off the last 11 notes. The ending drags and adds dead extra time. Ideally songs in the 1-10 diff range should not go above 2 minutes, there's no reason to really.

Also, when I was judging this I was not aware that this song already had 2 files in-game. However, this file is a lot older and the one in-game is much newer. This definitely should've been judged first, thus I don't think it's wise to impact the file's rating based on this fact.

- Applied Deam's notes.
- For the BPM, I just took what the BMS file said since the BPM is not visible in FFR. I like the note colors so I left it at that.
- 2.695-10.695 remains 4ths, but I added 8ths in 10.695-16.695 since clock ticks join in.
- Removed the last 10 notes. I didn't cut the audio yet, so I'll check if it cuts weirdly in FFR and then upload the fixes. (Edit: It does. I'll cut the audio)

Moving this to the DC Engine. If there are any further fixes, please DM me directly or let me know.

Sorry, was infinitely procrastinating on the audio. I'll upload the fix real quick

fixed & difficulty label added. @DC: if this is going to be 2+ please let me know and I'll cut the second half or something
