Into The Blue (storn42) [7/10]
>Permission good (Rise Records)
>Sync good
>Folder contents, metadata

(Playtest Impression, 1.0x Rate) Takes a while to go anywhere, but not too bad. Abrupt cut?

Straightforward structure, don’t see much wrong from technical pov. Aside from the cut – they don’t drown that fast lol

Just isn’t all that interesting a file to me with this overall difficulty. A deeper cut that removes another verse might help solve that problem.

Into the Blue (storn42) [7/10, CQ/FR*]
>Perms, metadata, sync good
>Single = SoftSnare, Vocal. Jump = HardSnare, SoftSnare + Vocal. Hand = HardSnare + Vocal. Exceptions are made for 24ths and alternating jumps.

16.989 - This intro is long! Maybe cut the intro and make it start at where 9.120 currently is, since the guy is literally saying the same sentence twice here.
40.104/47.153/47.973/51.088/1:39.120/1:44.038 - Remove note. Not drum.
*1:05.514-1:06.170/1:09.448/1:13.711/1:17.481/1:29.120-1:29.448/2:12.399-2:13.055/2:16.333/2:20.596/2:24.366/2:36.006-2:36.333 - Should be singles. Doing this for the vocals in these particular sections would prevent confusion with regards to the upcoming jumps, which are Vocal + SoftSnare.
2:07.153 - Shouldn’t this at least be a jump? HardSnare with a slight bell sound.
2:17.645 - Why jump? There’s no vocal here. Unless it’s on the word “your”, which is technically on 2:17.973.

>>Different layering for different sections is fine. It’s just that playing through stuff like 1:05.186-1:07.153 feels awkward b/c of the conflicted layering. Please change it.

Yea, the cut kind of sucks but its what i'm working with. Rest of the song is basically a quick repeat of the intro plus the chorus again. The end of the song doesn't have the same impact as where the song currently ends, and has enough differences to where i cant just splice it in. Where the mp3 currently ends is right before the next vocal line which happens before the current ones finish. So yea, it not ideal, but its the best i can do.

- I recognize how long this intro is, and i have taken the time to consider it. I *could* just put like 4 notes there and suddenly we only have a 1 second intro :) That said, its important for the feel of the song imo, even if it is slow. (plus it got cut from the repeat) There are a few charts in game with similar waits and trumaestro mentioned it being "not too bad". This is one of the rare instances where having a long intro feels like the right thing to do.

40.104/47.153/47.973/51.088/1:39.120/1:44.038 - Remove note. Not drum.
- They aren't drums, but they *are* guitar, which is the main instrument of the section in my eyes, and happens to land on a LOT of drum notes.

- i *think* this issue was solved by me fixing the 2nd chorus (read below), but just in case; I dont think removing jumps from vocals will make this any clearer, and infact make it more confusing. having layering being added like this in my experience is more confusing than simple x=y layering schemes. With the fixes i've made to the chorus, there should only be jump snares when there are other jumps close to it. If you *really* have issues i can jack the b2b snares like 1:23.547, but i would like to avoid that for difficulty concerns. all i am doing for now is fixing the snares that should've been hands, and waiting for your response.

2:07.153 - Shouldn’t this at least be a jump? HardSnare with a slight bell sound.
- nope its supposed to be a hand. I made an oopsie-whoopsie in the second chorus and failed to follow the structure of the first. The intention was to have all hands for snares during the chorus, expect for the fast 24ths.

2:17.645 - Why jump? There’s no vocal here. Unless it’s on the word “your”, which is technically on 2:17.973.
- Its the word "the", same as with 1:10.760. And the word after on 2:17.973 is "undertow". Since it does start a bit later after the note and to be consistent with 1:10.760, i've moved it to the 24th, to also be consistent.
