Broken Mirrors (Storn42) [5.5/10]
> Permission check good.
> Sync looks good (No changes necessary).
> No issues found within simfile properties.
> File is on “challenge” difficulty.

-[00:00.248] Shouldn’t these be rolling from right-to-left rather than left-to-right here? PR check. 00:10.407 Plays a lot better because of this. Same with 00:12.097.
-[00:27.731 / 00:34.491] Singles like this makes me wish they were placed as jumps. Cymbal crashes would make a [23] work in cases like this.
-[01:00.790] A lot of the hand structure in this file seems really unjustified as they are seemingly following strength of vocal throughout the file, rather than something more conclusively justified like cymbal crash, major instrumental transitions, or the like.
-[01:14.679] No jump? :(
-[01:15.947] Repeat from first note.
-[01:27.214] There is definitely no jump here.
-[01:31.581] No jump for cymbal crash??
-Overall structure and layering is lacking pretty hard from what feels like the copy-pasting that is happening throughout this file. There needs to be a lot more attention put into what makes a jump consistently throughout, and a double-take on hands in the chorus.
-[02:04.501] Missing 12th.
-[02:05.196] Repeat no jump for cymbal crash. These really should be fleshed out. I understand that 99% of these jumps are for vocals, but the other 1% is filler drum jumps and these sorts of singles are exactly where the filler jumps take place, See: the following 4th note after this one is a filler jump that isn’t vocals.
-A lot of the notes are specifically involving Structure and layering integrity involving the entire chart at a core level, and needs a fair amount of work before going in. Main concern being is that people aren’t necessarily going to understand what the jumps are following to, like hands & such (expecting drums/guitar in a drums/guitar song, gets jumps to vocals instead) and then get further confused about inconsistent layering on instrumental jumps in-between vocals.

>Perms & sync good.
>Metadata bad! YOU SPELLED YOUR NAME WRONG IN THE CREDITS OF THE .sm FILE, Mister Stron42!!
>Main Vocals intentionally not stepped sometimes. Secondary Vocals = white notes. Hard Snare Hit, Snare + Cymbal Crash = jump (from 7.027-48.846 & 74.679-111.862); Main Vocals, Hard Snare Hit = jump. Main Vocals + Hard Snare Hit = hand (from 48.846 to 74.679 & 111.862-138.529 & 194.847-223.215); Hard Guitar Strum, Hard Snare Hit, = jump (from 138.529-154.715); Hard Guitar Strum + Hard Snare Hit, Hard Guitar Strum + Hard Snare Hit + Cymbal Crash = hand (from 156.948-162.808); Hard Guitar Strum + Hard Snare Hit = jump. Hard Guitar Strum + Hard Snare Hit + Cymbal Crash = hand (from 165.878-173.413); Hard Snare Hit = jump (from 174.250-183.180)
0.248-0.529 - This triplet pattern is actually descending.
1.797 - This note should not be in the same lane as the previous two arrows since it’s both a different sound and it’s lower pitch.
60.790 - Should be jump (has Main Vocal, but no Hard Snare Hit)
74.679-77.074 - See note on 0.248-0.529 & 1.797.
108.623 - Shift to [4] to express the descending melody
148.017/149.413/150.250/151.645/etc - Should this be a hand? (Hard Guitar Strum + Hard Snare Hit)
178.087 - Missing note (drumroll)
183.180 - Could cut and stop the song here
193.805 - Should be jump (secondary guitar)
>>Song is long and boring, but at least the layering is consistent. [7/10]
