Magic Cycles [7/10]
Permission / metadata good
offset should be 0.177 -> 0.166
- 1.093: I like the alternation between 3-note and 2-note anchors to signify the change in melody.
- 20.939: Great 4-note anchor patterns here to put emphasis on this sound, but since the sound doesn't change on the 4ths I wonder why they're hands. I feel the 4-note anchors by themselves are enough emphasis, especially since the sound happens on the 8th notes.
- 35.290: Really like how you break the 4-note anchors up, since the intensity of the song goes down.
- 61.090: Not sure what this jump is going to
- 62.312: ^
- 63.533: ^
- 64.754: ^ etc
- 79.868: I wonder if there's a way to make this similar to 79.257 since the voice kinda echoes here.
Jump usage in this section is easy to follow.
- 96.356 - 97.577: Nice use of jumps to follow the intensity of the music.
- 98.951, 100.172, 101.394: Missing jumps? I'm guessing you're omitting these on purpose.
- 141.545: Since these 4 notes form 1 sentence I feel you could make this either a 4-note anchor or a staircase.
- 147.651: Are you following the melody with triplets? It's kinda hard to tell. If so, you're missing triplets at 147.956, 148.872 etc.
- 161.162: I'd like to see you follow the higher pitched notes here instead because the music changes but the patterns do not. So instead of 161.086, 161.315 and 161.544 being jumps you could make 161.238 and 161.467 jumps.
- 165.971: Feel this could be a hand like 163.528 (They occur on the same step in the sequence of hands). It wouldn't be that much of a spike either.
- 172.077: Jump usage in this section is a bit hard to follow, but you do it consistently, so I'm guessing there's some thought behind it, I find it hard to discern why some jumps are omitted and why some are not though. For example 172.459 is a jump, but 172.612 is not. I'm guessing it's on purpose to give this a more balanced difficulty curve.
- 208.717: I would have liked this to be a 5-note anchor, but the trills work as well.
- 209.480: This note should probably be on a different column since she's saying a new word here in a higher pitch.
- 250.242: A lot of my previous notes on the lyrics also apply to this section.
Song seems to just repeat from this part onward.
This chart is a nice stamina challenge. The usage of jumps was a bit hard to figure out for me, but overall it played fine. I kept an open mind to the way you chart melodies and stuff, but some parts especially the sections with lyrics were still a bit questionable to me.
Score is not final, second judge will update the song status with the final rating.

------------
- Permissions, metadata good.
- Sync drifts slightly. Offset needs to be changed -0.177 -> -0.168, and the bpm should be set to 196.500 instead of 196.509. Timestamps given with these changes made.
- 25.816: Should be hand, not jump.
- 78.738: Really nice minitrill usage.
- 143.842: Missing jump for vocal + percussion.
- 145.206: This 16th run is fine, but I feel it would be more effective if you stuck to the vocal layering scheme you've been following before this, i.e. singles unless vocals are present and jumps if they are.
- 157.420: At this point you might as well just use jumps to the actual rhythm, i.e. mostly 3/16ths with periodic 8th triplets. Essentially, this repeating: https://i.imgur.com/VKfIKGX.png
- 254.748: Should be jump.
- This file plays pretty fast and loose with the layering, and I'm not quite sure I'm comfortable with it. I don't think it's flat-out unacceptable, but there are some sections where it's pretty noticeable that the jumps don't quite line up and I think it would be a very good idea to see if you can mitigate that. My main area of concern is with the 3/16th type rhythms as mentioned at 157.420; these last for quite a while. [7/10]

I'd like to spend a lot of time working on this if possible (maybe like 2-3 weeks). I'm personally quite unhappy with this chart's general feel, and I think both Pizza and M0nkeyz's notes are focusing on a different problem that I didn't think was an issue at first. I'll see if I can mend both together.

Commenting to double-check and see where things are at with this file, since it's been a little over a month since the last update. If there's no response, then the file may get rejected so that it doesn't get stuck/lost in the batch.

I'd like this rejected; while I think the things that Pizza and M0nkeyz have gone through are valid (and I'll go through them a different time for a different game), I don't think that this file is particularly suited for FFR to begin with.
