Making Christmas (storn42)
>Perms, metadata, sync MOSTLY good.
>Additive layering? bmsCore layering? Both? Let’s find out!
>Trying to figure out your stepping style in this song. Soft guitar strum = Anchor (maybe the anchor appears only when there’s no vocals; otherwise, the vocals disturb the anchor and determine PR). Vocal, Soft guitar strum + Kick, = Jump. Kick + vocal + hard guitar strum = Hand. Secondary vocals/Edited Main vocals = White notes (maybe colorized to something not white).

0.278-3.205 - The melody sounds more like 14131412, rather than your current 14131213.
3.205-5.766 - Are the jumps on the snares? If so, then you have a few spots that need jumps.
7.961 - Should be [14].
15.461/16.193/18.388/19.120/ - Should be single, maybe as part of a minijack for the vocal jump
16.742 - Missing jump. Compare 10.156/10.888.
18.205-18.388/18.937-19.120 - Maybe turn these into minijack singles instead of the current mini-jumpjack?
23.327-26.986 - Maybe turn these to white notes, or better yet give each character/diff combo of characters a certain color. Can apply this on later sections.
29.181-30.278 - Could step stuff here.
42.717-44.547 - This section is slightly off-sync.
43.083-44.547 - I know the jumps here go to the hard snare hits. Yet I’m surprised that the other guy’s vocals don’t get jumps.
47.839-48.937 - Please step more stuff here. The difference in note density would clarify between this section and the vocal sections before/after it. .
51.803 - Sounds closer to 51.792.
53.144 - Missing single (soft guitar strum)
56.620-57.717/60.278-62.108 - There’s a soft guitar strum within this space.
63.571-67.230 - What determines the moment when you change lanes on the anchor here?
67.230-82.047 - Looks like bmsCore layering here!
67.230/70.522/72.717 - Should be hand. Compare 73.815.
82.230-86.254 - Now back to “Vocals = Jump”.
93.663 - The jumptrill should stop here.
93.937-104.730 - Why the hands?
97.230 - Possible missing jump (vocal)? It’s not exactly on sync, but it could go on the word “This” on the phrase “Consider though, THIS substitute”
99.608 - Should be single (not-as-loud snare)
126.132-131.986 - I see the hard snare hits are jumps, but should the cymbal crashes be jumps as well? See 127.595.
134.913-138.937 - The hard guitar strums could be the hands.
139.303-142.047 - Not really an ascending melody here; it’s more like alternating back-forth.
147.352/148.815/150.278/151.742 - Missing jump (cymbal crash). Compare 145.888.
158.693 - Different pitch, should be on [1]
165.187 - Should be single. (not a snare)
178.449-179.364 - All these cyans are actually 32nds.
179.913/182.839/188.702 - Could be hands (vocal + cymbal crash)
192.071/192.787/194.895 - Ghost note
194.049/194.243/194.634/195.832/197.158/197.199 - Missing note
198.024 - Sounds closer to 198.058
199.395-199.870 - Could step these four subtle notes

>>Very dynamic layering scheme from you. But there’s a lot of small errors and the vocal-based color theory could use some work. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO APPEAL YOUR RATING (assuming that your final score is 6.0-6.5) [6.5/10]

Making Christmas (storn42) [8/10]
>Permission good (Blanket)
>Sync good
>Credit field says "Storn" and not "storn42" :(
>Folder contents fine

The colour scheme might make it hard to give you accurate notes. I'll do my best.

7.596 - not sure a hand is warranted here

These because it looks like you want to follow vocal in section 93.203-...later...
94.244 - "ments" of "compliments" lands here-ish
94.976 - "to" lands here-ish

128.872 - missing drum fill, compare 127.409. Also ghost at 129.146
145.883-156.127 - decide which musical phrases you want to include the drums in. Then go back and make sure you've got them all for those phrases because there's some missing depending on your goals for this section.
165.181 - jump probably not warranted, drum drops out/better followed by next section's structure
174.813 - debatable-ish missing note
194.679 - debatable-ish missing note

Yeah, why not. It's a pretty enjoyable file overall even if it didn't have the colour scheme. I can't imagine stepping Christmas music in general myself, but this is pretty darn good.

0.278-3.205 - The melody sounds more like 14131412, rather than your current 14131213.
- changed

3.205-5.766 - Are the jumps on the snares? If so, then you have a few spots that need jumps.
- yes

7.961 - Should be [14].
- done

15.461/16.193/18.388/19.120/ - Should be single, maybe as part of a minijack for the vocal jump
- done

16.742 - Missing jump. Compare 10.156/10.888.
- done

18.205-18.388/18.937-19.120 - Maybe turn these into minijack singles instead of the current mini-jumpjack?
- already adressed in an earlier note

23.327-26.986 - Maybe turn these to white notes, or better yet give each character/diff combo of characters a certain color. Can apply this on later sections.
- While there are all the different characters, i feel like that might be a bit too much. Its harder to tell the different characters appart when they're all voiced by the same guy. So i think focusing on voices instead of characters like i've done here is the better idea.

29.181-30.278 - Could step stuff here.
- this is a very unclear snare roll to me. with 29.242 and 30.156 being the only clear notes to me. It might feel a little empty, but in my opinion its better than the alternative.

42.717-44.547 - This section is slightly off-sync.
- took another look at the section and resynced it.

43.083-44.547 - I know the jumps here go to the hard snare hits. Yet I’m surprised that the other guy’s vocals don’t get jumps.
- Its not as prominent as the vocals to me.

47.839-48.937 - Please step more stuff here. The difference in note density would clarify between this section and the vocal sections before/after it.
- i just dont really have anything to step here.

51.803 - Sounds closer to 51.792.
- fixed

53.144 - Missing single (soft guitar strum)
- i just dont hear the guitar here.

56.620-57.717/60.278-62.108 - There’s a soft guitar strum within this space.
- thats the bass guitar, an instrument i havent really been focusing on.

63.571-67.230 - What determines the moment when you change lanes on the anchor here?
- Folloowing the guitar pitcvh. There is a new high pitched guitar note that starts at 65.036 in the right ear, and a clear pitch shift at 66.500

67.230-82.047 - Looks like bmsCore layering here!
- bmsCore??

67.230/70.522/72.717 - Should be hand. Compare 73.815.
- done

82.230-86.254 - Now back to “Vocals = Jump”.
- correct

93.663 - The jumptrill should stop here.
- there is clearly a snare on 93.756. i will remove the jump after it though.

93.937-104.730 - Why the hands?
- hands for vocal + snare here because it felt like the right thing to do for the section.

97.230 - Possible missing jump (vocal)? It’s not exactly on sync, but it could go on the word “This” on the phrase “Consider though, THIS substitute”
- It wasn't missing, but it was offsync.

99.608 - Should be single (not-as-loud snare)
- true, but there is also a "hu" vocal there that i feel is strong enough to leave it in

126.132-131.986 - I see the hard snare hits are jumps, but should the cymbal crashes be jumps as well? See 127.595.
- done

134.913-138.937 - The hard guitar strums could be the hands.
- they could be, but i think i prefer how its charted now.

139.303-142.047 - Not really an ascending melody here; it’s more like alternating back-forth.
- its kind of hard to tell with all the different nots going on, so i'll swap the two middle columns to give it something closer to alternation.

147.352/148.815/150.278/151.742 - Missing jump (cymbal crash). Compare 145.888.
- done

158.693 - Different pitch, should be on [1]
- different pitch, but its still a guitar note where the surrounding notes are all drums, so i feel the same column still makes sense here.

165.187 - Should be single. (not a snare)
- done

178.449-179.364 - All these cyans are actually 32nds.
- done

179.913/182.839/188.702 - Could be hands (vocal + cymbal crash)
- could be, but its not something i did in previous similar sections.

192.071/192.787/194.895 - Ghost note
- i hear a distinct note for each of those sounds.

194.049, 194.243, 194.634
- added

195.832
- its a guitar slide and rather ambiguous and hard to hear, so i'd rather leave this

197.158, 197.199
- since the chords so quiet i'd rather leave these notes out, despite being seperate notes.

198.024 - Sounds closer to 198.058
- moved

199.395-199.870 - Could step these four subtle notes
- i think they're a bit quiet, and i think it works better having the 4 colors of notes used in the chart as 4 seperate instruments here.

trumaestro

7.596 - not sure a hand is warranted here
- Given the loud crash + snare, i feel the hand makes sense

These because it looks like you want to follow vocal in section 93.203-...later...
94.244 - "ments" of "compliments" lands here-ish
- done

94.976 - "to" lands here-ish
- i dont think thats where it lands. "to you" belnds together a bit and think how its charted now is fine.

128.872 - missing drum fill, compare 127.409. Also ghost at 129.146
- 129.146 is a guitar note

145.883-156.127 - decide which musical phrases you want to include the drums in. Then go back and make sure you've got them all for those phrases because there's some missing depending on your goals for this section.
- i've cleaned up the section a bit.

165.181 - jump probably not warranted, drum drops out/better followed by next section's structure
- Done

174.813 - debatable-ish missing note
- added

194.679 - debatable-ish missing note
- added
