FFR Community Pack 4 - A Sampler (SPECIAL RELEASE)
Click on banner to download! For those of you who don't know, for the past month the FFR community has been working on a community pack. At first, the pack was only conceived as a way to compile the various single releases from the past six months, but submissions began pouring in at an unexpected rate--and before we knew it, we were up to 100 great files. But things aren't over. We still need your help. Since everybody involved has been working so hard on this project, I only thought it fair to give you guys a little taste of where all of your effort is heading. I truly did not expect this project to be so huge, and I will devote my time to ensuring that when it's released, it will be the absolutely best representation of the FFR community it can be. How can I help? There are many different ways you can help. You can see the current progress of the pack in the official thread, and I've listed various ways to contribute below. GRAPHIC DESIGNING Want to help with graphics? Find out more here. PLAYTESTING Interested in playtesting the pack in advance? PM me with the following info: 1. Your email address 2. Your skill level (attaching a few SM scores might be helpful) - we need plenty of beginner/intermediate players! 3. How much free time you have in the week of February 1 to February 7. All playtesting will take place in that time. EASY CHARTS This is a huge pack that'll be geared to as many people in the community as possible, which means we need far more easy charts than we currently have. If you would like to contribute easy charts, please PM me and I'll work something out with you. In addition, Wineandbread (under the handle swordmasterz already has kindly offered to contribute charts for songs without them, so if you have files in the pack without easy charts, let him know. Thanks to all. Let's make this pack own. -moches Last edited by moches; 01-23-2013 at 07:59 PM.. |

Re: FFR Community Pack 4 - A Sampler (SPECIAL RELEASE)
I'll review all of these because whatever : D
(bmah) Tabibito Rerun your best file, imo. great mixture of old-school style with newer theories (especially color theory), the jacks play absolutely perfectly, and the patterns are more-or-less spot-on. Heavy is right at my level and it's just perfect; Oni's a great scoring file. u did good with this. (FissionMailed1) Floating Through Time easy but not boring at all. great song, great patterns (though they get clustered when there's too many jumps). grace notes are good accents and will be fun for newbs to hit. (Gundam-Dude) Bird Sprite -Awakening of Light- kinda rushed and you can tell, but Gundam-Dude still makes a better 30-minute file than just about anybody else. the style is just perfect throughout, streams are tons of fun to hit. gonna be a staple in the scoreboards for MA freaks, I'm sure. also I'm not sure what all the gfx drama was about because all of the sets you made were gorgeous O.o (hi19hi19 vs Scintill) The Cataclysm sooooo small confession: I did 90% of the judging for this pack on Autoplay. lotsa reasons, mostly because my netbook has a terribly fragile keyboard and I don't have $50 lying around to shell out on a new frame if this old one breaks. this file was totally worth playing, though. just a ridiculously fun throwback to the days of GLoVE's insaneous GiTaR sOlOZzzz and 24th notes instead of color note vomit. only complaint is that the freezes/jump density are a little too much for what's a pretty light song, but they also make this file great scoring fodder so I won't nag too much (Kommisar) Purple Drank other than the random MINE WALL OF DEATH (I get the concept, but compared to the rest of the file it's a shitton harder to hit) this is just super-smooth Kola Kid fun from Mr. Canada Chef Goulet-LeBlanc. thumbs up. (mi40) Hajnal2 song itself is a bit oddly paced but steps are basically perfect down to the last note. bursts are subtly challenging without being ridiculous/impossible, pattern choice is flowy where it needs to be and tricky where it needs to be, color notes/freezes all very well-utilized. (moches) Juicy my file. simple but cute. tbh my favorite chart on this is the Medium chart because it's easy and very fun (moches vs Valor) Guitar Hero nice job with this. layering choices all top-notch. I tweaked a few things I would have liked to seen (like the mines in the final jumpstream), but this is a great MA file with a super-energetic song to boot. well-done. |

Re: FFR Community Pack 4 - A Sampler (SPECIAL RELEASE)
PLAYTESTING 100 FILES IS EXHAUSTING
someone remind me to never do this again actually I shouldn't say that because I need to get used to mass marathon reviews like this
