Default The Amazing Spiderman

Just saw it with some bros.

I personally thought it was really good. A lot of things were different than I thought they would be.

So did the spider bite only really make him super strong and great reflexes? Because all the webs were mechanically thrown lol.

I just came back too.

i thought it was gr8. liked it better than the old three.

I'm just confused about

how he got shot by one bullet when he's supposed to have these super great reflexes and stuff and dodged every other bullet they shot at him earlier in the film

Hmm...I might watch this then. I'm usually iffy about watching sequels/prequels/remakes and the like since they never end up living to my expectations, but if people are giving the new spiderman movie good reviews, I guess it might be worth seeing

I can't bring myself to go see it... I read a few reviews and it seems like the kind of movie that can only disappoint.

Reboots are supposed to be, well, reboots. Like what Nolan did for Batman. Is this really a reboot or just more-of-the-same after Raimi tanked Spider-Man 3?

I just tell other people before they watch it to forget about the other movies completely.

I think Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker 123414x better than Tobey Maguire and just makes the movie much more enjoyable. It's a more heart-warming film than the others and that's probably why I like it more.

It follows the canon of Spider-man a lot closer than the others, so it's much better (imo) than the one with wussy toby. They made Spider-man a bitch in the Sam Raimi movies to try to appeal to us (oh look he's got super powers but really he has problems too) and it takes the fun out of Spider-man.

He got shot because he's been shot before. Just because you've got super reflexes doesn't mean you aren't gonna get pinged if you're completely focused on something else (you know, giant lizards etc)

I liked it better than Raimi's version, but I still had issues with it. I felt like too many plot points were rushed. Too much breadth and not enough depth (I found myself not caring much about Connors as a villain... he just kinda turns evil and then he gets dealt with).

Anyone else look for the end-credits scene? My money's on Mysterio.

I thought they did good with Connors, but I agree there was too much stuff trying to get crammed in. It's okay though, hopefully the second one gets to focus on stuff that isnt just like every other superman movie: "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO SUPERMAN" If they do that with this one, I'm going to be really annoyed.

For some reason I was thinking Electro, only because I remember having a shitty animated movie with Electro in prison breaking out lol
