It's DDR, but harder, and with different songs. Pump it Up is a whole 'nother idea. In the Groove isn't.

Yes, in a round about way, ITG is DDR.

DDR -> Stepmania -> In the Groove. There is a reason why part of the KvR court settlement required Roxor to acknowledge all rights of Dance Dance Revolution.

A thirteen yearold with little to no knowledge about what goes on in the bemani community should not be arguing.

The fact that Roxor later on started making its own dedicabs does NOT change the fact that what they previously did violates copyright laws. They took Konami's cabinets, sold ITG kits, and basically told owners "Hey, take our product, and shove it into the cabinet that Konami spent millions of dollars to develop and build." What caused even more problems was that the first version of ITG came only with a banner, and no additional stickers. The other stickers that are on the original cabinets remained and caused confusion between DDR and ITG between some of the public (do not try and tell me that you didn't because you represent less than 0.000000000000000001% of the bemani community). Again, Konami's regular flow of profit suffered because of ITG's violations.

As for 'dance format', ITG uses the same system at Stepmania. If you look at the original version of Stepmania (because ver. 4.0 is imo trash rofl but that's a totally different story), it is designed to be an immitation. Left right up down arrows, freezes, speed mods, etc... Default skin is designed to immitate that of DDR. Even the modes like beginner/light/standard/heavy were reused, gfx for those were pretty much ripped right out of the game. Anyone who says this isn't an attempt to copy DDR (not that I think it's a bad thing) is in complete denial.

1. I think there is in Pop n' music.
2. RoXoR just got owned by Konami (not really but they now own ITG). So no ITG2 console.
3. A fanmade ITG song.
4. A remix of Max, duh.
