I've got all notes from judges, and I'll do some supportive judgement.

We use absolute standard and average ratings are relatively low this time, so I expect acceptance rate of this batch is low.

I have to comment that two out my four judges told me to cut, but you can't cut Black Mages songs :/

All my files got panned mostly for the songs themselves, Beginning of War too short, Rising Blue Lightning too long, C-Jam Blues too quiet, DATA DRAIN too data drain
Surprised at the decent reviews Bowser the Shredder got considering that file is literally from 2007

Honestly I'm most happy about the awesome reviews that St.Scarhand [Light] got, hopefully now more than a few dozen people will get to play that awesome song and have some sexy PR streams shoutouts to qqwref

6/6/8/6 = 6.25 Raccoon Flicka

6/6/7.5/7.5 = 6.75 Jeh Jeh Slammin'

5/8/7/??????? = ?????? Super Scooter Mappy

Well damn. I was hoping for a better outcome, but what can you say? Ah well, I'll try again. Dohoho. Hoping whoever rates Super Scooter makes it get passed the acceptance average. If not, then wow, I was honestly thinking Super Scooter would get in because I was super confident of it. But that 5 REALLY hurts.

So you stepped super scooter... i was pretty confident it would get in too. Please do not throw it away, that file is gorgeous man. The guy who gave you a 5 probably had his reasons, but sheesh. It's worth way more in my book.

Edit: I compare my notes to other people... Am I too lenient with you guys? Like... Wow I'm always the highest note. Hopefully that will keep some people optimistic about their skills, I guess...?

Default Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch #1 complete)

I'm gonna just post these here because PMing all of you is kind of nonsensical.

Some of these are not completely serious, but a deal of them are and I hope it's obvious which.

N's Farewell
[Resubmission] N's Farewell – 5/10
- For an easier file of this difficulty the hands should go. I’m not enforcing a Tass-era type hand policy here or anything but this is a calm piano song that would be better stepped gracefully than with heavy layering.

Subjective irrelevance at best, on top of that, the hands are perfectly fine and they're stepped very precisely.

- Make the two-note gallops a jump. This is an easier file and gallops are annoying when a player of this level should be learning proper rhythms first. It also covers the gallop anyways so it’s a plus.

"Easier" to you =/= easier to me. My chart's difficulty tends to stem from technique more so from patterns. By the way, technically the gallops are the proper rhythm. You "can" hit it as a jump or whatever, but to the music here, that's not as accurate.

- Rather than have a long 8th stream I would suggest following the prominent melody.

I'd kindly like to say,

- I can picture a great easier file for this song. But in its current state, it feels like a long 8th stream with forced layering to a calm song. I would suggest getting rid of the grace notes.

I'm gonna be blunt here with you, I feel you had absolutely no justification to give this a 5. All your notes are mostly subjective at best. You're telling me that you want to see it a specific difficulty, even if I removed the grace notes, it would be maybe a 6 instead of a 7 on the older ffr scale. I think that honestly, most of your notes are irrelevant. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I feel you looked at this chart the wrong way.

N's Farewell (Xx{Midnight}xX) [8/10]
==========
- m. 24 (beat 92.00) - Seems you were following layering very closely. Given the intensity of the notes though, a jump might suffice.
- No other complaints. With the sync fixed, this file is much better than last time I took a look at it.

Jason, I appreciate it <3

N's Farewell (7/10)

-17.480s Those jumps layer the piano and the violin, but somehow they feel pretty empty. I personally think your chart would be more effective at that specific part if you stepped only the piano in a way to make PR stand out (for example, stepping "123124234231...", but that's a suggestion, really.

Difference in judging opinions hnnnnnnnng I got asked last time to put it as it is... now requested to see it the other way...

-19.904s You should change that note around in order to avoid having a jack with the hand following it. Maybe make it a down arrow.

Will look into it.

-41.722s ^

-49.297s You're doing this more complicated than it should be, this should only be a 16th arrow at 49.146s followed by a normal jump.

Will check this I suppose.

-55.964s Red flag on that hand, it's nothing like the hand at 57.782s which needs to be there. There is no chord being played at 55.964s and the violin is not stronger either, it should be a normal jump. Following the same logic, 56.267s should be a single arrow.

I'll check this, but I'm pretty sure that hand probably has to be there.

(-60.206s lol wow this is so cheesy. it's like jizzing in slow-mo)

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah

-71.115s No 192nd note to show us those notes are not actually played at the same time? Huh. I don't recognize you anymore.

Don't tempt me to do this girl, you know how I get when 192nds come into the picture...

-78.274s Arguably, that note sound be a down arrow for PR sake to concord with the one before it. Also, I think you are trying to be too exotic for your own good by putting 192nds everywhere. Don't you think a 16th would be perfectly fine? Same applies to other places (81.898s, 83.729s, maybe I overlooked others)

Most of them are 96ths

-89.297s That chord is the same as the one ending the song (although played in reverse), for PR sake, make it lower than the one ending the song.

Will check it, most likely gonna happen.

I hope N doesn't stand for Nintendo (!), the song is cheesy-cute and your chart does a good job portraying that. I think a few of my suggestions wouldn't hurt it, though.

N stands for Natural :3 I'm sure you knew this already, but it's a pokemanz song.

N's Farewell / Xx{Midnight}xX
rating: 7.5/10 [+.]
- 22.91s,83.22s,87.16s: single arrow
- 23.82s,32.91s,34.73s,etc.: jump (in addition to the grace note) to piano chord
- 41.70s: recommend up arrow for PR
- 72.06s,etc.: no 48th, just a plain old 64th grace note here
- 49.26s: similarly, no 128th prior to the 4th; just another 64th grace note
- 51.15s,80.19s: no 48th, but unlike previously, there is a note prior to the 4th
- 55.94-56.25s: should just be a jump then a single note
- 67.16-67.50s,79.28s: actually just normal jumps. I suppose the octave spread between the piano chords gave a "grace note" sort of illusion.
- Summary: Beautiful song and good for novices to play. Most of the grace notes are actually stepped correctly, but a number of them still are not on sync or have one too many arrows. I think a lot of people will enjoy this file.

This is arguably an amazing example of notes I love to see, I wish more people judges this way.

Neko Miko

I was informed that there was a pretty important issue with this prior to the notes, so I'm not gonna commentate these. I'll probably nuke it and then redo it from scratch, but thank you all.

Malevolent Mansion

Malevolent Mansion (Xx{Midnight}xX vs. T-Force) - [+?] 5/10
- Missed a note in the ending of the first roll at s4.82.
- Be careful with patterning the 24ths at s68.40. I suggest sticking to just ascending/descending and split rolls considering the easy nature of the simfile.
You haven't seen the ending yet, or skipped past the intro being hard as hell.
- Ghost note at s79.64, get rid of it.
- s85.34, same comment about patterning 24ths.
- Not sure what these jumps at s89.93 are going to.
- When you start using triplets at s96.99, it gets rough for the player to manipulate, and it's a huge jump in difficulty compared to the rest of the file. I suggest making the file harder with extra layering so that it's balanced in difficulty throughout the file.

You didn't play test this, because if you had, you'd realize these three note patterns are hilariously simple to jump trill.

Malevolent Mansion

Short easy file, not too many issues. Some of the 24th sections don't flow very well, especially at this speed, and the 32nds are going to ruin a lot of scores for players. I'd recommend changing the 32nds near the end to use all 4 columns, using different roll patterns to accomadate the sounds (for example, instead of 124124124, use something like 13241324). 6/10

Why do you all call this chart easy... It's meant not to be...

Malevolent Mansion (Xx{Midnight}xX vs. T-Force)
Rating: 4/10 [+?]
- 4.118: pattern change happens a note too early and forces a 12th mini-jack
- jump usage seems somewhat inconsistent throughout the file; the jumps follow bass-drum, snares, combinations, or even neither sometimes. The section with the 16ths has jumps placed for bass drum/snares, but occasionally has (and doesn't have) them for when the melody coincides with the percussion -- it's not clear at all.
- 16th stream is a huge spike, yikes
- song is missing a few jumps for snares at the end
- those 32nds are a ridiculous difficulty spike compared to the rest of the file
- file needs a lot of work overall

Malevolent Mansion (Xx{Midnight}xX vs. T-Force) - the bursts need fixing
especially in the end 7

It's so jumptrillable, I fail to see the problem aside from no one will sight read it that easily../

My Fxxkin Desire For You
My Fxxkin Desire For You

Woah, this file is actually pretty good. That 64th roll around m71 should actually be 48ths. The jumpstream section at the end is slightly awkward, and the 12th section doesn't fit very well, imo. Very solid file though, especially coming from you. 7.5/10

Thanks choof, not a fan of your subtle insult, but I am glad you enjoyed it, I will be fixing that 64th roll, and possibly the ending after the 12ths. But the 12ths are there on purpose to emulate the "rolled" nature of what is going on.

My Fxxkin Desire For You (Xx{Midnight}xX)
- layering for nearly the entire file is very explicit and to the point; no games, you're playing exactly what you're clearly hearing

Yay good comment.

- because of how stringent the layering is for the file, it's hard to conjure up errors because it's extremely clear what's being followed

Exactly!

- that ending stream is brutal compared to the rest of the file

ClimaxXxXxxxxx Theory son, have you heard of it? Note: This one is clearly a joke.

- the color change was a bit unnecessary considering you're just accenting drum fills -- the rhythm is right, but the notation is incorrect (hence the reason why all jumps aren't all on 4th).

Which color change in specific?

- nothing bad to say about the file itself, but the difficulty changes are quite violent

Brutalllll Metalllllllllll

Rating: 6/10 [+.]

Wait what? I'm confused at how based off your commentary I earned a 6... A 6.5 maybe? But certainly not a 6...

My Fxxkin Desire For You (Xx{Midnight}xX) - ending sync is goofed for
whatever reason and the ending js doesnt have many 16th 6

Your "Ending js doesn't have many 16th" comment is confusing... If it's the 12ths... I'd like to refer you to above I suppose.

My Fxxkin Desire For You (Xx{Midnight}xX) - [+.] 8/10
- All of this actually flowed very well. The ending jumpstream is pretty rough but there were no awkward patterns so it's good to go.

Reality, have you played it? I kind of borrowed that concept slightly, but I added jumps.

- At s129.29 and s130.85, you could make these a hand so that it acknowledges the cymbal crash and the snare.

I think I noticed this after I sent it in, but will check it regardless.
