Uh...how do you become a step file artist.

...I know some people might think im retarded but I keep seeing all these random names of ppl who make the steps, and that sounds cool, but how do you become one. do you have to be a special person who is a certain rank *since im currently only 25,000 something it kinda might be a few more weeks if thats it XD* or do you have to be some weird supporter or what?

I know its stupid but just how do you create a stepfile for something lol...?

you have to make files for songs we have permission for

and if those files get accepted you become a SiMfIlE AuThOr

you can make stepcharts in either Stepmania's built in editor or DDream Studio (which is a dedicated stepchart editor)

ffr will be able to accept such a stepchart as long as it has no holds, rolls or mines in it
and the song has to be from an artist we have permission from
(if you don't want to get your charts into FFR the game tho step whatever you want, go wild. just keep in mind that your first stepcharts will definitely not be ingamable material, but that's normal)
