Whomever thinks that the 360 is superior in ANY way can go suck it too, mainly because they're Microsoft fanboys and have given in to the blasphemous schemes of one William Gates. I have a long-running grudge against Microsoft... Don't get me wrong, I don't think the xBox is a bad machine, it's just VERY VERY FAR from superior to any other console out there.
And no, I'm not lovey-dovey on the Wii either, but it's still by far the cheapest out there (mainly the only one I can afford, I have NO cash flow except what's out of student loans) and until there are some MAJOR price cuts in either the 360 or PS3, I'm not even gonna look at them any time soon. Maybe when blu-ray becomes useless... (not too far off... ^^)

Same sentiment for the PSP, it does a whole bunch of things half-assed, and it barely does what it was originally built to do in the first place - GAME. The DS is far superior, tbh, basically because it focuses on GAMING. Besides, the only people who can afford a PSP with the 2-gig mem stick are usually the same people who already had all the devices that did all those functions in the first place - and FAR BETTER. I'm just waiting for the firmware update to turn the PSP into a ****ing cell phone...
Its only 600 for the 60G haha. 500 for the 40. And its very very well worth it.

It's $500 for the 20gb, and that version is gimped and soon to be out of production.

Also, please explain to me how it is "worth it". What's the point of a video game system that has no games to play?

We're now past the six-month line here, and it still doesn't have any games to play. Your flagship titles won't even make appearances until late 2008 / 2009.

Why would anyone want one.

That is the problem that it has no games(although R:FoM is worth it), but it will. And Home will be amazing, and blu-ray holds much more data than any other cd-like device out there(50gigs for a dual layered blu-ray disk), it's compatable with other OS's (window vista, *nix etc). Now a couple of other arguments I've heard about it, starting with the 360 Elite. Now I don't own a 360, yet, but I intend to buy one(not an elite) very soon, now the thing people say is that the 250 gigs(w/e it is) in the elite will rape the PS3's hd. True, but I can upgrade my hd to something much bigger or even rig up 1 tb to my PS3. To each his own, but I have a PS3 and a Wii right now and I must say it's close for me it really is. If (WHEN!!!) Nintendo gets 3rd party support Wii will own( it does now XD), but I've been a die hard Nintendo fan(no I'm not a "retro gamer") I just love the games in my opinion I think all the next gen systems are pretty equal and have great potential. I won't put down a system out there right now.

The PS3 would be great to have, but there's no way I could afford one, not before the PS4 came out. (T_T) Well, I just hope that they continue PS2 game production for awhile. For all of you guys in the same boat, it'll probably keep going for some time, although it should slow down significantly. Crap.

Well, Guitar Hero III is coming out for the PS2, so that'll stave off me purchasing a PS3. And I have Odin Sphere, so...

It's going to be a while.

And assuming I buy and enjoy 1/3 of them, and I play video games for 2 hours a day every day except the weekends, which varies, it could feasibly tide me for six months after the year ends, assuming I play through all the games once and only once.

Does Guitar Hero even NEED a higher graphics console? I bet they could make a build of Guitar Hero for PSX.

DDR ran on the old PSX just fine. I'd assume, being a scrolling rhythm game, that Guitar Hero would work quite well.

No. But it will reach the point where it won't be fiscally responsible to produce for the PS2 anymore.

The PS2 is still the highest selling console on the market.

Are you talking about in monthly sales? Because the Nintendo DS holds that, followed by the Nintendo Wii.

We're talking about consoles not handhelds. Comparing the Wii vs. PS2 sales, the PS2 still holds more sales then the Wii even if the Wii is selling like hotcakes. However long that last, it's hard to tell.

It will get to the point where games that developers want to make will not be able to function on the current consoles. That's when we need to step it up, not neccessarily for graphics.

Not week-by-week it ain't.

Not week-by-week if you line up the launches and not week-by-week today.

If you're talking overall, then yes. The PS2 is winning. That's obvious.

well of ofcorse overall sales for PS2 is winning it's been out for how long? and the Wii was released recently so that's hardly a fair comparison

I already said that, bro.

Get the weekly sales data and line up the numbers on a weekly basis from week 1 of launch, week 2 of launch, etc.

Be amazed. Wii is winning.
