Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
You know what'd be cool? Having an option to turn boo's off. This is good for use with alternate engines so you can play FFR like it would be SM. Anyone know where I'm going with this? Of course if you do this, it shouldn't record the score, but being able to FFR like it's SM would be fun.

Technically though, people can convert files from StepMania to FFR's format, and host them on their own servers as a custom engine. You can't just create a custom engine though, but you can use currently available ones for new levels to play. Check out this post for information about custom engines and how to use them on R^3. You can also play FFR MP using custom engines with others.

Is there a way to use Rates on Flash 9 instead of 10? 10 Does not work well with me.

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
this has to be one of the best engines for FFR yet because its easier for people to get AAA and before the first note comes down you can hit random notes without getting boos.

I like it
except for the challenges that require you to get x boos and you can't get a start on them before the first note anymore

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
Personally, I found that it was harder for me to play, not to say that
I'm bad or anything, but I would still prefer the original game, hitting the notes on time(perfect) seems to feel very different on the newer thing, too hard for me to get used to it for now |

well it takes a while to get used to and some people adjust quicker than others
took me a solid week or two of iNtEnSe playing to switch over

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
should be able to search stepped by and song author. Ohh and the ability to save favorites (which i'm guessing most likely has been suggested)

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
So I did an experiment. I took advantage of the fact that when you get Skype'd, your lag goes away for like 2 seconds. Get this. I lagged when I loaded the page, then I did something that I didn't think would work...Logged onto Facebook. That's it! Stay on FB while FFRing, and you won't lag. It's weird, but that's how it is for me!

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
Edit: the ability to reorder things is pretty cool too
Suggestion: More filter options. Possibly filter out AAA's/FC's/Played files? Filter out certain song lengths, etc.?

derp: CLICK HERE Sextuple Yes on the filters, seems like it would be fairly easy to do. Also could probably merge the search and filters tabs to allow a favorites tab<<<. (Or that saved queue thing, whatever) Just have a bar for name search, artist search, song difficulty, length, and maybe if there is room stepfile artist. Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
One other suggestion:
Since starting a file requires a double click, on the first click, is it possible to make an audio preview of the file start? That would be p. damn cool

Re: Beta Engine: R^3 [Updated 7/26/13]
The problem with that is that the song is on the server and not the client, plus the song start is often not very releverant...
Otherwise, i'd also love to have more search options (like on Velocity) and i'd kill for a favorite genre (also like on velocity) |
